@@MSI- "always takes shots at bigger promotions" they've only taken jabs at WWE, most of these shots have been justified (Like the 3rd party platforms, backstage behaviour, etc) and WWE have done the reverse, the only issue I see with AEW is the huge roster and the selling of some wrestlers. Also, the XFL is a bad comparison, the first time Vince seemed to not know what he was doing, the second time it seemed to be going well and then the pandemic hit and they filled for bankruptcy as at the times no major sports games were to be played due to the risks. Obviously, he had taken shots, but that wasn't his downfall.

While a lot of these are straight up just Vince's extreme control freak tendencies, I agree with the policy of cutting down on the use of pronouns during play by play. You don't typically hear them used a lot in other sports commentary, because it confuses things and makes what's going on slower to take in when everyone in play is just a he or a she or a they. But if someone gets hurt and needs to be replaced for a match or a promo or some random thing like fathering Mae Young's kayfabe hand child, they probably have preferred choices, so keeping everyone there until the show is over gives them as much flexibility as possible.

I think the pronoun rule makes sense based on personal experience. I recently started watching both NXT and AEW around the same time. I found it somewhat difficult to keep track of AEW's large roster and what was up with the individual characters. But it was a lot easier to follow NXT, in part because the announcers identify them clearly and help explain what their deal is. It's like the old comic book adage, "Every issue is someone's first."

People don’t realize how big of a deal subtle details are like using someone’s name instead of pronouns. That’s something I picked up on when I worked in sales talking to many store managers. If you say their name then they tend to like you more, they’re more likely to want to get to know you and give you what you want.
@Psychology

But repeating someone's name over and over again is annoying. "Becky Lynch is walking down! Becky Lynch is in the ring. Becky Lynch grabbed Bayley. Becky Lynch just slammed Bayley!"
@DizzleDog

@@Psychology Yeah, don’t overdo it lol. Obviously don’t need to say the name every single time of course. If you constantly just said she did this she did that you don’t even know who they’re talking about. My comment was really just talking about personal interactions, not really about the announcers.

To be fair, it’s not just wrestling where leaving early is considered rude. I toured with metal bands for years and leaving after your set during shows was immensely frowned upon and definitely caused bad word of mouth or even altercations. You stay for the people performing later than you, because they were there for the entirety of your performance.
