Stephanie McMahon was a horrible heel. Having an authority figure that can't get their comeuppance and ultimately does nothing to get over other talent is silly. The fact that Dusty was expected to be emasculated by someone instead of reacting naturally is a testament to how self serving her on screen character is.

Just for clarification, Kofi was supposed to take a punt kick, not an RKO. You can see Orton trying to push his head back down as he tries to get up. Orton improvised and did an RKO. That’s why he was upset.
@isitoveryet9525 Жыл бұрын
Was still an overreaction lol Nobody would’ve even known, if Orton didn’t throw a temper tantrum. I get that it made the kick look weaker but it didn’t change the outcome of the match & wasn’t such an egregious error, that Kofi had to be berated in front of everyone. Definitely one of Orton’s most unprofessional moments.
@lapactic7353 Жыл бұрын
@@isitoveryet9525 Also gotta mention a lot of wrestlers didn't like the punt kick, even Randy came out and admited it was a horrible finisher. Getting it to look good without actually punting the head was near impossible. Sometimes hitting the head happened and we all know that would hurt. Can't really blame Kofi for not wanting to take the kick if that's what he decided in the moment. he could have felt a bit off near the end and thought a kick to the head could make things worse for him. At least he moved into a position for Randy to preform his main and more iconic finisher. He definitely overreacted like a child. Theres half a dozen punt kicks that look worse than this one. The most real looking one was when Vince actually told randy to kick him for real. None of the others came close to looking like that. The move eventually being scrapped was probably for the best.
@Theinen84 Жыл бұрын
@@lapactic7353 the punt means you're getting written off TV for a while. IIRC, Kofi was gonna be the first one NOT to. They would've made his push red hot. That in itself already changed the story. You not making an unbelievable triumphant return if you just coming back from an RKO the next week.
@polkhigh_33 Жыл бұрын
That upset wasnt based on Kofi's botch alone though. Kingston was just a bad wrestler to work with, he neither had the necessary ethics, nor was he safe to work with. Carrying an unsafe highflyer through a match is whole another level of a challenge. And since nobody dares to drop the bomb: Neither his talent, nor his dedication and even his overness justified that push, it was based on skin color. THATS what really pissed the locker room off.

HBK May have been difficult to work with, but the thing with the cameramen is understandable to an extent, ya they were just trying to do their job and nothing bad happened but if theyre ever standing in the wrong spot at precisely the wrong time it could end up with the cameramen or the wrestlers getting seriously injured. Kind of reminds me of when people used to say that Van Halen were difficult because of them asking for MnMs with the brown ones removed in their touring contracts, later we found out that they threw it in there after a stage collapse on one tour due to the venue not following all of the instructions in the contract, If they saw brown MnMs (or no MnMs at all) then they knew their instructions werent followed and would double check all the stage rigs. You can see before he swears at the cameraman in the first clip that their hands almost collided with the lens, so Shawn was probably just angry that his hand couldve been broken due to the cameraman standing in the wrong spot

I don't know why the whole locker room hated Puder for what happened. It was a shoot fight. He wasn't going off script because they never told him to throw the fight. They told him to fight and he fought. WWE should have capitalized on it and made him out to be a total badass. He could have even had a decent feud with Angle. The whole thing just reminds me of the Brawl For All where they punished Bart Gunn for winning a shoot fight even though they didn't want him to. The time Shawn Michaels was clearly angry that John Cena missed his cue to enter the ring where Triple H had to improvise because of his delay timing should have been on this video list as Shawn Michaels was visibly angry, he even cut off Trips from his rant and looks toward the locker room screaming which was obvious, the person who was supposed to come out during Triple H's shoot, was not there yet.
Just one side note. The finish between kofi and randy Orton's match back then was meant to be a punt, not RKO. Kofi didn't realise this as he got up from the floor more then he needed to.
