Towns with endless ring roads and roundabouts look very boring and those high rise blocks, built by architects and property developers who have certainly never pushed a pram or considered where children can play! The terraced houses need refurbishment yes, but not full demolition as what they did have which those( often dangerously) cladded, high rises do not, is a front door, a back door and a small piece of yard or a garden of English ( or Welsh) soil to own and a sense of community to call their home.
@janicebirch75222 жыл бұрын
SHH, don't tell everyone Linden, there's enough new homes , surely in beautiful Llandudno now.. This video is trying to make a political point, for whom is not clear Asking this question, to people paying high taxes from low incomes, with little disposable income to do anything, is bound to result in ' boring' Up to the local councils to give their communities a sense of cohesion and community spirit, to encourage people themselves to do things. However, when councils HOARD Council tax and government funding or worse, invest it abroad for a ' rainy day' what do we expect!? County Council spending needs more scrutiny that is the reason for 'boring' no opportunity in many towns in England paying the cost of failed policies in cities and towns in other areas.

There's also probably 200 or more places in the UK more boring than Llandudno, it's not deserving of this list. More southern towns need to be in the top ten, Slough, Milton Keynes, Watford, Swindon etc.

Exactly! Blackpool is definitely not boring. It has a theme park, 3 piers, a Sealife Center, a tonne of pubs, restaurants from every nation, many tourist attractions, churches, opera house, multiple theatres (Winter Gardens and the other theatre). Dance halls, a vibrant shopping centre, swimming baths, a water park with indoor and outdoor slides, parks, arcades, trams and the world's largest outdoor disco ball call it what you want, but it's definitely not boring

There are so many seriously boring towns in the south of England but few of these have been highlighted. And what does boring mean? Some of the wealthy, middle class villages throughout the country are just dead. A walk through leaves one wondering whether anyone is still breathing. Some towns seem to be populated by people who behave in accordance with social media rules. Llandudno is a great place to be. Burnley has its good points. This is just a smug, sneering southern view and nobody should take it seriously. Definitely don’t subscribe..

The Punch and Judy show and the high speed motor boat which enthralled my kids will remain a secret. As will the fun to be had watching unsuspecting tourists being seagull bombed for their chips. I won’t talk about the delights of special occasions spent at Osbourne House or meals at the Empire. Just wonderful. Or the cottages to let near the tramway station. Or the really nice campsite near the golf club. No mention of the Alice sculptures or the West Shore cafe or the Happy Valley and the observatory above. I won’t talk about the intriguing pit in front of the Grand. No, it must remain as a dreary, boring place which nobody would wish to visit. Except for the people who know better.

@@TheMG4hubcap had 20 years of those locales. They are boring. Awful town centres, awful shopping centres. Especially Runcorn with its Halton Lea/Shopping City 1970's leftover.

I`ll agree with all of them, i thought carlisle , cumbria would have been mentioned though.

Hmmm ,are you sure you actually mean boring ? Could you possibly mean terrifying ,depressing ,uninspiring ,rundown ,scruffy ,deprived or (In the case of Llandudno) sedate ?

I'm an American. I spent a day in Weston-Super-Mare many years ago when I visited cousins in Burnham-on-Sea (marriage of an English and an Irish and they were not boring at all, but then they lived most of their adult lives in Africa and were preparing to go back). Weston SM was strange. People were out on the beach in their swim suits. Me I wore a sweater and a coat it was so cold, and I have always lived in cold places. So I went to the movies to get out of the cold and watch The Graduate. The people talked constantly but only about all the materials things in the movie. They oohed and awwed. Fascinating. Not a boring experience for me.

Unsure why this is on my timeline but I assume that due to the fact you’re turning out tripe like this, you’re from one of these places?

Agreed. Luton must be one of the worst places I’ve ever had the displeasure of working in my life. What a ST hole.

So when you visited did you go to the Memorial park, Wardown Park, Stockwood Discovery Centre. Did you enjoy the close proximity to the M1 or Luton Airport for easy travel. Did you note that many homes in Ludlow Ave and New Bedford Road are now fetching 1million. Yes Luton has it's faults just like every large town but it's not all bad,. I trust you are very happy where you live now, your choice as is our choice to live here.

@@willowtree4121 I am aware of all those points about Luton. I am very happy where I live now, I live in Rondebosch ,Cape Town ,South Africa adjacent to the University of Cape Town where my elder son studied & obtained a Ph.D in Computer Science. I can assure you that Cape Town & surrounding area offers much more than Luton. From mid-1974 to end 1994 I lived in Uitenhage near Port Elizabeth, a town similar to Luton but uniteresting, although it still has much industry, much of which has disappeared in Luton.

I find it very confusing that boring is taking as a synonym for crime and dangerous. I mean it's not fun or entertaining, but I wouldn' t call it boring just for that.
