Vader and Booker T had something in common. They were big stars in other promotions (notably WCW) so Vince had no plans to let them win the WWE Championship.

It was s**tty as hell, when you lived in the 80ies. But the story now is, that Ricky wanted some time off with his new born son, and Vince only agreed, if he drops the belt, which he did. Vince originally promised the Dragon a one-year-run with the belt.,This, and especially that Ricky had to job for Valentine in the WM4-tournament, and so not being able to deliver another show stealer with and return the favour to Macho Man, made him leave the company soon after.

@@vitorsly Oh she was ruined after that loss. She tapped out to Flair which was damaging enough but then went on to lose several matches to Carmella of all people in some of the silliest booking they have done. No amount of meaningless and forgetable title reigns will change that. She lost the Smackdown Title to Flair 2 weeks before Mania just to enhance the Lynch vs Flair vs Rousey storyline which was pointless and she then lost on the kickoff show Wrestlemania battle royal which was won by Carmella. Both of her reigns as Raw Women's Champion were nothing at all and she was only used as set dressing to enhance other fueds which seems to be her purpose since coming up to the main roster. The only thing she has done of note since losing at Mania 34 is her run with Kairi and the Tag Team Titles and that's it. Overall I'd say she is completley tarnished in WWE.

The issue with Asuka/Charlotte is, Charlotte's permanent push means that wins and achievements are valueless to her. She could be on a 0-100 losing streak and still get a title shot. Asuka was damaged because when your streak is stopped in WWE, that means you're suddenly vulnerable against everyone, but it's doubly damaging when you lost for absolutely no gain for whoever beats you.

I'll never get over that Booker T loss for one reason. It's one thing if Vince just didn't want him to be champion after that buildup, which would be stupid, but fine. It's the fact that Booker hit one of the most devastating looking moves I've ever seen, an absolutely brutal Harlem Hangover from the top rope that looked like it killed Triple H, only for Triple H to kick out of it like it was just another move. I mean, imagine if that Wrestlemania match between Lesnar and Angle had resulted in Lesnar actually connecting with that huge Shooting Star Press, and Angle kicked out from it. Or if HBK had kicked out of Taker's jumping tombstone, just to lose to a simple chokeslam a minute later. That top-rope Harlem Hangover was one of the most impressive and most memorable single moves in WWE history, and ABSOLUTELY should have ended the match. And what makes it absolutely brutal is that when Triple H did hit the pedigree a couple of minutes later, he took damn near thirty fucking seconds to crawl over and make that pin, and Booker still didn't kick out. The ending made Triple H look invincible and made Booker look like shit, the exact opposite of what that storyline deserved. You can have HHH win... just not like THAT.

2009 - Hot as hell having just retired Jeff Hardy to become WHChamp; CM Punk gets crushed in back-to-back PPVs by Undertaker (Notable here is that Punks winning the title seemed to signal a new era for Smackdown having had an excellent main event scene revolving around Hardy, Edge, Morrison & Punk..... Taker returns from injury and kills all that momentum in 2 virtual squash matches) 2010 - Rehabbed from the above set-back and once again hot (and evil!) as hell; CM Punk's Straight Edge Society not being able to get the better of Rey Mysterio and then subsequently getting single-handedly dismantled by a stale-as-hell Big Show for no good reason. (On not one of these occasions could the evil mastermind of this cult make the numbers-game work once? ...Really???)... This angle should have been the catalyst to send Punk back to the main event where the SES could have owned Smackdown. 2011 - Having caught lightning in a bottle for the 3rd time in 3 years; WWEchamp Punk is white hot yet again. However, having already botched the storyline by bringing Punk back too quickly (He should have just returned for Summerslam to call Cena out as the fake champ); we then get the messy Nash/JohnnyAce conspiracy angle with HHH beating Punk for ZERO reason. People like to point to the 400+ day 'mid-card main event' run that eventually followed; but the damage had been done.

Nexus losing to Team Cena at SummerSlam '10 was the wrong move. Originally, Nexus was told that they were gonna go over at SummerSlam. Just imagine if they won that night? They’d become even more dominant and maybe some of the members still would be employed. The reason they didn’t go over is because Vince basically said that John Cena should go over so there’s a happy ending and so that the kids go home with smiles.

Depends how you look at it I guess. I mean there was absolutely no way Ricochet was BEATING Brock, certainly not at a glorified Saudi house show, but the complete lack of fucks Brock gave about the match turned it from a loss into a burial, just like when he squashed Dean Ambrose at WM32, turning what had promised to be an exciting hardcore match into just another a boring trip to Suplex City. Brock is one of the best in the world when he cares, but conversely one of the worst in the world when he doesn't. It's not just about whether you win or lose, but _how_ you win or lose.
