Point of the whole show, really. The bottom line is that if their businesses were operating as profitably as they wanted, they wouldn't have to be infiltrating the ground level to find out what's actually going on. Not the White Castle CEO. It was one of the first episodes -- possibly even _the_ first. He really knew his stuff. Although I live near Columbus, Ohio and have driven by the White Castle HQ only about a zillion times on the way to the grocery store, I've never consumed the original Sliders. But by golly, I have oodles of respect for the CEO. I'm told a sack of Sliders (also known locally as ratburgers) used to cost a buck, and it was _the_ place for OSU students to grab something cheap and greasy after a big night on High Street.

The common theme on all these episodes is the undercover boss (UB) always finds things wrong with his franchises either operational failures or unmotivated employees. Which means, the supervising managers aren't doing a good job with the trainings and their failures fall upon the people above them in both the hiring's and their trainings. Ultimately, the issues come down to upper management failing the levels below them. 14:06 "Take their money, that's our #1 priority... TAKE THEIR MONEY!" What an idiot. Yes, of course, you're in business to make money and from that perspective it makes sense. But don't be stupid enough to flaunt it in everybody's faces or they'll resent you for it and your customers won't be so quick to visit your stores. Make them believe you're in business to serve them and that you're all about customer service so they don't see you taking their money.

The customer not drinking alcohol at the bar, being a "concern" for the owner is a real opportunity for the Jessica to sue the company and the owner separately. In some towns and at some establishments even the appearance of being drunk lays the responsibility squarely on the one drinking before it becomes an issue a bartender has to deal with. Some towns have a 2 drink limit for alcoholic beverages 🍸 🍷 and their laws stand up in courts. Testing a bartender with tea or colored water in the counter bottles is a tactic to, again, demean and humiliate the employees. That is another legal claim against the company and CEO.

@raidernation7427
@raidernation7427 Жыл бұрын
@Mark I don't totally agree either but I've seen plenty of bartenders continue serving long after it became dangerous. They didn't care if the customer went out & killed someone or got alcohol poisoning. I was a bartender for awhile & there were times I cut ppl off for their own safety. 1 in particular was a friend who's adult son had passed away (car accident) & he was set on drinking shot after shot. 3 in the 1st 10 minutes. I made him wait for 30min before I served him. He was pissed but thanked me a few days later bcuz he said he wasn't planning on surviving the night. Bartenders shouldn't automatically be liable but also shouldn't automatically be free of liability.

OK, I've spent better than 20 years in the RBI. I've done every job in a restaurant /bar op except sign the paychecks. The reason for the random testing on bartenders is simply because of tips. A regular who knows that his drink has an 8-count instead of a 5-count will tip more. That's a basic to the industry as 'big boobs equals more money'. It is the bartenders and managers jobs to know the laws in their jurisdictions, ESPECIALLY in regions like the Bible Belt where the liquor laws are a patchwork. And if you're drinkin' in a town with a two-drink maximum, what's happening is that you're being arrested for NOT being Mormon and/or Baptist. But that's what happens when you let your preachers and your politicians get too cozy.

That happened to me I started to work in a nursery for about 3 weeks and found the journey was too difficult so I was very polite and said thank you very much but I'll be leaving (by the way it was a trial period) and the manager cursed me out saying well thanks for wasting my time and was not happy with me 🙄🙄😅😅 I was like okay well you've just shown your true colours lol 😅😅

Ive had the experience of being berated by an additional employee as well. It was so ridiculously power trippy to me (and at a dog shelter nonetheless). And the reason is because there was some confusion as to my days off and some window to figure it out, or so they indicated, and the next I know she's mad because she already wrote the schedule but I was a new employee and we hadn't quite settled on what days on or days off. I took that as a sign that as long as she was boss it wasn't the place for me. It's been about a decade, so I'm sure management has changed hands by now lol. The job itself was awesome.

I completely sympathize with Blaze. Parents bring their kids, let them leave disaster in their wake, and then employees have to clean up after their mess. When you get a job like that, you don't expect to be cleaning up after a daycare. Of course that would make someone bitter and annoyed. Any retail worker knows this frustration

But you can just instruct the parents and the children how to do something. It's kind of simple to talk to people and if they don't fully understand, normal people should be sympathetic as long as they're not being an asshole about you correcting them.

No. He doesn't want to over serve people because the business and the bartender are responsible if a customer walks out gets in his car and kills someone while driving under the influence.

Bikinis.Seems abundantly obvious this wasn’t a “blind” study. All these women knew something was up and they were all treating this “new employee” rather oddly. Why would they all just stand around and cling to his every word like that? Doesn’t make sense unless they’re all wanting to sleep with him, or they just happened to realize who he was.

Just remember, people: if a 45-55 yr old shows up for their first day at entry level with a camera crew and weird hair, its your boss. Start brain stroming your hard luck backstory and practice crying.

It's the same with some bus companies. They see their staff as wheel monkeys that are easy replaced. I had this first hand before I went back to the railway 😊.

Every episode of this show should start out by showing the CEOs salary compared to the workers he is working with. The arrogance of most of these CEOs is unreal. These ppl are unbelievably rich by exploiting desperate ppl. Sure some of them help some employees at the end, but how about paying a decent wage and good benefits from the start? God forbid the CEO only makes 20 million a year instead of 30

Exactly! If you can't afford to pay your workers a livable wage, you do not deserve to be in business.

Good boss, bad employee. More like great employee, bad boss. Blaze only opened up to his fellow co-worker or who he thought was his co worker he didn't flat out say it to the customer. Big difference. Blaze...you're not alone my dude, not at all.
