Gramps. I know right lol. It’s all legato or slurred. That’s coming from a percussionist who probably knows how to play the saxophone better than our actual saxophone section lmao 😂. @@jacobluatuanuu8910 I can't cook for shit but I sure as hell know what a good meal tastes like, and hate when people add things to their food for the sake of adding their own flair and it ends up too complicated and doesn't taste right. Same situation here. Even if he might not know how to play (he can actually), he knows what makes something sound good and understands that adding something unnecessary for the sake of adding your own flair can complicate it too much and make it sound off.

because that is who should be up there because of more reasons than i feel like typing. this stuff isnt good, and its not complex or musically challenging or revolutionary, like giant steps was, or donna lee, or for simpler music, something like parkers mood or impressions, which people are still learning from that music nowadays.

Jazz I know, I was saying that I dont know why I was expecting those things is because most people on KZbin are there for the hype not for the quality, and they see sax is this stuff, not part of what changed the course of music.

I get you, but all music is different. I think a good solution would to be to just change the title of the vid, or interpret it as meaning "the most recognizable to the general population"

You need to change the titles from top 10 most epic sax solos to most popular. Many of these solos aren't even solos just part of the melody. I was expect john coltrane or something.

The 80's were a golden age for saxophones. People often think of the synthesizer as the dominant instrument of the decade, but the sax was every bit as prevalent. There were scores of hit songs that featured its signature wail.
