While I am very displeased with the list excluding crimes from outside of the US; I have a few suggestions: 1.) Dunblane Primary School massacre in Dunblane, Scotland in March of 1996. 2.) US Embassy bombings in Nairobi, Kenya and Daar-es-Salaam, Tanzania in August of 1998. 3.) Candelária Massacre in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in July of 1993. 4.) Sarin gas attack on the subway system of Tokyo, Japan in March of 1995. 5.) Collapse of the Sampoong Department Store in Seoul, South Korea in June of 1995. 6.) Port Arthur massacre in Australia in April of 1996. I'm genuinely surprised that people are having a variety of reactions to my suggestions for a different list. I'm certain that a lot of them would agree with me that the Tokyo subway attacks and the collapse of the Sampoong Department Store in Seoul, Korea should be on the list because the former caused the Japanese government to stop being so hesitant about conducting criminal investigations against religious organizations and also caused the citizens of Japan to realize that they are not immune from acts of terrorism whereas the latter caused the South Korean government to start implementing tougher building codes and also caused the citizens of South Korea to question the price that they paid for their nation's economic prosperity.

@@MartialBob While it stinks that these events didn't make much news in the US; I added them because the victims deserve to be remembered, the survivors deserve to tell their stories, and the heroes deserve to be honored. Though I am understandably bewildered that the 1998 US embassy bombings in Kenya and Tanzania didn't make the list. Though I have a slight theory that the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center complex in New York City was a vague foreshadowing to US embassy bombings in Nairobi, Kenya and Daar-es-Salaam, Tanzania in 1998.

The murder of Gianni Versace as part of the Andrew Cunnanan spree killing. That was pretty infamous.
@michaellovely6601
@michaellovely6601 2 жыл бұрын
I was impressed by the season of "American Crime Story" that profiled the murder of Gianni Versace because of how much the principal cast members looked like the people they portrayed. Penélope Cruz portrayed Donatella Versace and it didn't take much for her to get into character. I saw a photo of Penélope on set and it was mind blowing how much she looked like Donatella. All it took for Penélope to get into character was a moody facial expression, a fake cigarette, a blonde wig, smokey eye makeup, and a tight-fitting red dress. Rounding out the cast was Edgar Ramirez as Gianni Versace, Ricky Martin as Antonio D'Amico, and Darren Criss as Andrew Cunnanan.

Sadly, I remember all of these. Selena’s death was heartbreaking for me, I was supposed to go to her concert that was scheduled not long after she passed. She was such a beautiful soul. Then, a little over a year later, Tupac was taken. Now, his death hit me really hard. My parents had to keep me home from school because I was just a mess. I definitely thought I was going to marry him. Don’t judge lol. Every girl has that one celeb when they’re young that they think they’re going to marry. @thelegendinhisownmind7038
@thelegendinhisownmind7038 2 жыл бұрын
@@backdoorletsdothis I hope you're not referring to me as a "race baiter". And yes, what those police officers did to Rodney King was completely illegal, and a disgusting abuse of power, thus making it a crime. Not to mention how this act of racially charged barbarism caused a number of subsequent crimes in its wake. Think of the brutal assault on Reggie Denny, which was also a racially motivated crime of retaliation. Think of all the crimes committed from the LA Riots that followed afterwards....Assault, vandalism, theft, arson, disorderly conduct... I think most anyone even remotely familiar with the law would consider any one of those a crime. Yes, as I've already ascertained that the initial set of unfortunate events was racially motivated (I mean, there are few things in this world that are less obvious than that! 😆) but the aftermath expediently became the catalyst of a public outcry for basic human rights; Which everyone single one of us deserves, regardless of race, creed, or religion. But to think this important event in 90's history was an attempt to bait others into a racially motivated, often heated, exchange of comments; and to also act unapologetically accusatory, is just pure naivety on your part; Not to mention blatant strife mongering, and admittedly somewhat trollish behavior, in and of itself. Please...I beg of you!.... Don't be that guy. 😊

Yes OPERATION PATSCON which included Ruby Ridge-Sam Weaver age 10, dog Styler, and Vicky Weaver age 26 all over Randy Weaver's refusal to sell sawed off shotguns for the FBI. Then you have WACO where the branch Davidians lived peacefully for over 50 years so the FBI infiltrates and comes up with stories about David Koresh being a pedophile and other crap, and burned people alive, then the OKC bombing with 13 FBI agents infiltrating Elholm City Oklahoma. Carol Howe, one of the infiltrators ratted out the FBI infiltration and disappeared forever. Suspect number 2, a rouge agent who planned the bombings was never brought in. It was Eric Holder who came in and disappeared evidence forever. I was there so not the cleaned up official vision from here. This glaring idiocy of Janet Reno's operation caused the Star investigation on Bill Clinton for his sex life as the special prosecuted law which was brought about from the Teapot Dome Scandal had expired so she cobbled together a policy and threw Clinton under the bus to cover up.

@javanehfennell

Unfortunately the police focused too much on the family and had blinders on. They refused to acknowledge the pleading mother a couple blocks over who had reported a man attempted to kidnap her daughter in nearly the same circumstances as JonBenét’s. Her daughter screamed and he took off. This happened just days before JonBenét died. Police also claimed footprints were never found in the snow but there wasn’t any snow and DNA was found on her body that did not belong to anyone in the home. They can never go back and fix this. Her poor mother died of cancer before being officially cleared by Boulder PD.

So many people in Canada are still disgusting by the plea bargain Karla received (pleading Guilty to two counts of Manslaughter in exchange for testifying against her husband Paul Bernardo and receiving a twelve year prison sentence) which is referred to as "a deal with the Devil." I have considered the plea bargain for Chris Watts to be our nation's "Deal with the Devil" due to the heinous and demented nature of the crime and Chris accepted the plea bargain in exchange for five life sentences plus eighty-four years in prison.

@squirtletown5307

The reason he was declared innocent was bc some Moran from the police desided to try to frame him so he would be guilty either way by taking a test tube with his blood in it and spread it on a part of the crime scene when it was tested after that the blood didn't clot which meant it had an anti colganglent in it and that would only happen if it was placed there so yeah the glove not fitting was only part of it but this is the bigger reason not many know about and isn't talked about really but the cops admitted to pulling all stop to get him convicted which was there down fall bc of the tampering they had to let him go. He can scream it on the rooftops it was him today if he liked but they couldn't arrest him due to the double Jeopardy law which states you can't be tried for the same crime twice. So even if he had admitted it after he was aquitted he couldn't be tried again period unfortunately.

I've met Nicole Brown Simpson's Sister. It was at an anti abuse rally and she gave a very powerful and moving speech about the abuse her sister endured.

The title should be "10 Most Notorious and Infamous Crimes of the 90s in the USA". In the rest of the world, much more important and internationally known crimes happened.

I was 7 years old when the Alfred P. Murrah building exploded on April 19,1995. 168 victims parished on that horrible day, 19 children died in the bombing. I knew people who had lost relatives in the blast. It seems like every decade since, America has to deal an act with domestic terrorism. Too devastating and tragic for a country to handle in my opinion.

same I was only a kid and didnt understand why everyone was so upset. Later I realized how quick a psycho can end your life, even if you didnt do anything to him. I saw an interview with that bomber and he was asked, What about the kids you killed? Don't you feel bad for them? and he was like, Meh I guess...but it was just their bad luck! What a nasty psycho!!!
