When I saw (vintage) Opium I almost screamed by the excitement. I have a vintage edt 120ml bottle from '82 and it still smells amazing. Every time I sniff it it reminds me of my aunty Gina in the early 80's speeding around town with her custom-made Pininfarina Mini, smoking her beloved Dunhill Red cigarette with Napoleone (her Neapolitan mastiff) at the back of the car. She was using the Perfume version. Yes you're right AC, Opium is indeed the smell of opulence! Thank you very much for the trip down memory lane Sir!

Als, they dont make fragrances like that any more mate :). If you get a chance, get your hands on the Vintage Heritage mate, I am in love with that fragrance.

Oh the wonderful, wonderful, wonderful Heritage by Guerlain... This has been - and still is - my all time favourite fragrance, and I've been wearing it since around 1997. Heritage by Guerlain is, quite simply, the very definition of the word "masterpiece" and, as such, must always be reserved for those occasions worthy of it. I used it arguably more liberally, back in the day, but now? Now, in vintage format, it is reserved exclusively for only the most special of occasions. And rightly so. It's that special.

Wow! Such stunning bottles AC! All of them - especially Heritage, Opium and Habanita. Love the colours in the video too! Gotta say, I was a little surprised to see Pure Malt. Really enjoy that fragrance (I have 2 bottles), but to me it smells awfuly like dark gummy bears. lol Looking forward to part 2!

Haha Still, I'll never go without Pure Malt in my collection. It was one of my first when I got back into the game so the memories I have with it will always be cherished. I also got an opportunity to pop into the Guerlain boutique last week and smelled the original formulation of Heritage. Reminded me a bit of Gucci Envy/Carven Homme in the beginning, but the drydown was really nice and smoky on my skin. Amazing stuff. Paired it with Santal Royal and got an incredible combination.

That layering combo sounds exquisite mate. I do not get the Gucci Envy vibes from the original though, I get more of a Coromandel vibe from it as I had smelled that before the Vintage heritage. Btw just landed a vintage bottle of Gucci Rush, will review it soon :).

Sumant unfortunately I haven't smelled the current EDT, I have the EDP. The vintage is very different scent and its like comparing street car to an F1 but I am only speaking from experience of the EDP. I am on a spree at the moment on collecting vintage fragrances and have recently landed Vinatge Mitsouko, Shalimar, No5, Sybaris and No 19. These have opened my eyes and have to a certain extent made me question today's compositions. The depth of the Vintage fragrances are in a different league.
