Nice video as always VisioRacer. The Toyota 4A series should also get an honourable mention - in South Africa, they were well-known for being able to do high mileages. When my dad sold his 4AF-powered 1600cc automatic transmission Conquest (Corolla hatchback was called that there), it was 28 years old and had done 480000 km / 300000 miles (my dad had bought it used from a dealer in 1995 when it had about 55000 km / +-37000 miles on it). He had only had 2 major issues with the car - the gearbox failed on a long trip (car was already 20+ years old at that point) and the cam belt snapped 12000 km before it was due to be changed (the mechanic at the time said the belt was a faulty part, so not the engine's fault, engine had done just under 285000 km at that point and experienced no major damage from the belt snapping and it was the same engine in the car when it was sold).

Hey man your English is getting better every video, I like hearing your progression. A quick tip, your use of "neither" in the first part is going to sound a bit clunky to native speakers, generally you can just use "either" and it will be easier and sound more natural. Usually "neither" is used as an answer to a question, or in conjunction with "nor". Let me know if this advice is out of line, but I am learning German and I really like that German speakers correct me when I say something that doesn't sound quite right.

The ford 300 is on of the best motors ever made. I have two stories from an 88 F-150 I should have never sold. 1. I over filled the oil and the pan gasket blew out in response. By the time I realized what was going on becuase the valve train got noisy, it had been running on 2 quarts of oil for days. Replaced the gasket and added the correct amount of oil and the motor never missed a beat. 2. I was in the middle of nowhere and the throttle cable broke in the pre cell phone days. At some point I had installed an after market ignition box with an adjustable rev limiter. I set the rev limiter as low as it would go, 4Krpm, and used a stick to jam the throttle wide open. I drove about 100miles like that...riding the brakes to control my speed and bouncing off the rev limiter anytime I had to stop. Again it never overheated (the brakes were trashed in the end) and was fine after I replaced the cable until I foolishly sold the truck years later.

Lots of Ford Falcon with the i6 Barras have 1M kms on them. Barra Taxis are still in the road with 600 to 900k kms even though they were last built in 2016.

Just to add, I’ve had 3 22r Hilux’s, the 1jz-gTE in a Lexus. All brilliant motors. But it’s the Falcon 6 that’s at the top for me, from a 1966 200 Mustang, 3 Aussie Ford 250 crossflows and even a Barra in a 2002 BA Falcon. The Barra you can say was the final revision from the 144 Falcon 6, Ford Australia slowly changed it every 10 years or so to eventuate into the Turbo Barra. Bore spacing the same all they way through to the end. About the only thing not yo have changed. I guess I’m slightly biased as my first car was a 1967 200 super persuit Falson, 88mph to speed beast ;)

YESSSSS. FINALLY ADDED THE 300 FORD! this was quite indestructible from what I've heard, and crazy reliable. I've heard of people purposely trying to kill them with no success. That motor is what defines Built Ford Tough! Also a million mile engine, I've heard of a few guys getting up to like 500k.endless praise for an indestructible masterpiece!

Hey VisioRacer. I love the videos, keep it up. I own a '06 Prius with 211k mi and it runs great with very little maintenance. I was excited to see the Prius in the video, but you actually got the years wrong for the 2ZR-FXE in the Prius. Even though other Toyota Hybrids of 2007 might've had the 2ZR-FXE, the 1999-2009 Priuses had the 1.5 liter 1NZ-FXE engine. The first Prius in this video is a 2008. A small mistake, but thanks for shouting out the Prius anyway! I love that car.

Ford’s 2.3 Lima used in the ranger and some mustangs is a phenomenal engine. They have barely any common issues and tend to run to 300k and above with just decent maintenance. My personal ranger with the 2.3 just turned 300k last week actually!

The 2.5 duratec and even the 3.0 duratec V6 are both pretty reliable too and known to go well beyond that. It’s just the rest of the vehicles they’re in that’s usually the problem lol

My parents are also selling a 2015 F56 Cooper S with 100K on it. Those B48s are pretty solid from my experience, no problems in the engine whatsoever. Hopefully the B48/B58 could be just as reliable as a Honda.

Ford 4.6L 2V modular v8, bulletproof motor and the Toyota 2.5L 2KD FTV. Couple of days ago I drove a Toyota Hiace with the 2.5L 2kd, it had 390,000 original miles with original transmission, pulls like a train and was hitting highway speed easily(despite its blistering 107hp and its weight, 4500 lbs).

Another engine that didn’t make the list is the Barra not only great in for its turbo model but it’s the Aussie taxi engine of choice where they do well over 300,000milrs

1,000,000 mile Toyota Tundras with nothing but a clutch starting to go out seems pretty reliable to me... much more than an engine that doesn’t even have consensus as to whether it is reliable, or an engine that has “minor problems.”

I have Opel Astra F with the Isuzu 1.7 turbo diesel (the 80 hp one). That thing has like 500k km on it (there is 302k on the clock but I am 99% sure that it was rolled back at some point before my Dad bought it 12 years ago). The engine itself had not a single problem for 25 years now and it only started having some issues lately due to standing in one place for over a year- one injector doesn't work when the engine is cold so it runs on 3 cylinders until it gets a bit warm, but that again is not the problem with the engine itself, just a worn injector that doesn't hold compression well. I am amazed as it looks like the car will break in half from all the rusting before the engine gives up. One thing is for sure: the Japanese sure know how o make a good engine!
