I work 10 hr shifts in healthcare about an hour from my home, so after a 12 hour absence, I struggle to find the motivation to do much more than help with dinner, read a little and then to bed. But on my days off I do a Weekly Home Blessing - my weekly chore marathon, a Weekly Office Blessing - my bills, paperwork, etc. marathon, and a Weekly Hunter/Gatherer Day - my errand day. I found that by giving these times fun names, I enjoy the work a little more, sometimes even looking forward to them.

Jealous of your wonderful garden! Everything that hasn't been burned to a crisp out here in the Mid-Atlantic has been munched on by deer, rabbits and woodchucks. Your best parenting idea- making sure that the "kids" (even though yours are almost grown- where has the time gone?) have a role in getting and keeping the shared property welcoming and organized. The lights are such a good idea - I would like to do this around our yard so we can see better to let the dog out at night. We have to watch for snakes and toads so she doesn't get bitten or eat one that could make her ill. It's fun seeing the types of natural coloring you used in the Popsicles and how you poured them. Its wonderful seeing how easily it can be done to have art meet frozen treats. I love Popsicles in summer, especially homemade fruit Popsicles. It's nice to be out of the heat wave. The drink you made with the turmeric looked delicious. To keep motivated to do household chores during the summer, I have a morning list and an evening list. Things that need to be done outside get done early in the morning or late evening. Inside things, I try to get done between 9 and noon. Then between five and nine in the evening, I get more done. This way, I have the hotter part day to do what I have energy to do.
