Slight nitpick: it's not that Brando _couldn't_ remember his lines; it's that he _refused_ to learn his lines. He also refused to read _Heart of Darkness,_ upon which the screenplay was based, and when he showed up on set he was in a physical condition that forced them to shoot him from the shoulders up most of the time... and this was _after_ demanding over $1 million, _in advance!_ There are A-listers today who would never get away with something that unprofessional, let alone the lower ranking actors, whose names we've never heard.

I thought the exact same thing. It's so very stupid. Affleck knew this would become a meme for certain. People would've made fun about it for years. Either way, it's petty of Affleck, but I understand where he was coming from, and it required such a small, inconsequential accomodation, that I don't understand why the director made such a big deal out of it.

Young characters appearing in films such as children, teens, or young adults can work. They can either be background support or protected characters. Sometimes main characters too. To me, I young characters are meant to simple minded, flawed, emotional expression, think clever, and have fun. Not making them into plot devices like aggressive freedom of speeches, trying to be complex and serious, and making them so intelligent. These negative media tropes, ruined any emotion, fun, and humanity of the young characters in fictional media. Working with young characters like children, teens, and young adults aren't difficult to work with. They take time to work with calm and patience.
