@@Breexbloodlust Unbreakable, which was Willis's character's origin, showed that he could drown in a swimming pool. The puddle is sad because it is extremely unlikely to drown someone in a puddle. It makes sense that he could be asphyxiated because nothing has stated that he could not be killed. It only showed him to be invulnerable. Water wouldn't be the only thing that would kill him. Anything that prevented the intake of oxygen could. Note, crushing his windpipe couldn't because there wouldn't be enough force to close his windpipe.

I saw it in the theater. The internet uploads bother me because most people would see them as fake and assume these “revelations” are doctored somehow. I liked what he was going for, however, and I think the fourth movie in the Unbreakable franchise could redeem this with awesome fights with superheroes fighting atop the Empire State Building, or a high rise in Philadelphia.

in Next he saved all the FBI agents and the girl by not being where the bomb was at. If he had done anything else he would have missed something, and they all would have died. That was the whole story. No matter what he did, the bomb was going to go off. The only choice in the movie was, are we going to be in L.A. when the bomb goes off, or are we going to be at a hotel in the middle of the desert when the bomb goes off? Did you not get that, he told the FBI, "If we go to L.A. we all die no matter what we do, and we don't stop the bomb." He checks every possible outcome. The only way they live is if they stay at the hotel in the desert. I think this is just one of those cases where the movie was smarter than the viewer.

@@Mesos92 The whole film was about Butler's character wanting to convince Foxx's character that making deals with murderers is not always the best way to go. Butler gets what he wants and happily accepts death because he knows Foxx will be more cautious about making quick and dirty deals in the future. I agree, except that it seemed the idea to make Mark the secret ring leader seemed crammed in at the last minute. After you watch Sixth sense for the first time and see the big reveal you can go back and watch it again and catch things you missed that in fact show the reveal was all part of the plot the entire time. Now you see them would have been a way better film if you could have done the same thing but you cannot as it appears that Mark Ruffalo is truly investigating them and is only shoehorned in as the ringleader at the end of the movie. But the acting was really good and the story was compelling through most of the film

The entire Next ending was set up from pretty much minute one of the movie where he says out loud "I've never been able to see more than a minute into the future except when she is involved." Literally sets up the entire movie with the long premonition. It was well done. They do it several times before the long premonition as well, where he's doing something and suddenly dies, but then we're back one minute and he uses that premonition to get out of how he dies. Exactly the same as the ending, just not as far.

I’ve always been astounded by The Devil Inside’s ending. It just boggles my mind that that’s an actual idea humans came up with. I know studios/Hollywood has made some very odd choices in the past (and also right now), but nevertheless it still astounds me to this very day

The insidious thing about the way stories filter through Hollywood is that literally every level of producer/executive that comes across a particular script feels like they have to make some sort of inane plot "contribution" in order to justify their existence and salary.
@ArcherSuh4721
@ArcherSuh4721 Жыл бұрын
I didn't think there would be any way any studio and/or filmmaker would be dumb enough to try something like The Devil Inside again, but then I saw the movie Panzer Chocolate a few years later and it actually expected the viewers to download an app in order to follow the movie! Example: The main characters find an old top-secret military file and then give a vague explanation of the contents. The viewer is expected to look it up through the app. At first, I thought this was a gimmck for bonus content, but it became clear the movie was just incomplete and/or so poorly written, this app was a probably a way to fill in the gaps. And that's just a guess, it's possible it wouldn't have explained anything at all. Either way, it was a scheme to bombard people with ads, promotions, etc and ultimately, nothing on it could have saved Panzer Chocolate from being absolutely terrible. Panzer Chocolate was a small direct-to-video/VOD release but if it had somehow gotten an actual theatrical run, it'd probably be on the same level of notoriety as The Devil Inside as far as a studio scamming the audience.

I'd bet some studio functionary said something like, "The Blair Witch Project pumped up the hype on the internet *before* the movie came out. Wouldn't it be clever to turn that around and pump up some hype on the internet *after* the movie ends? Isn't that brilliantly innovative?"

Wrapping it up with everybody dead, so it's clear the story is done isn't a bad way to go. Bringing out a mundane and banal evil as the big bad is something I can genuinely appreciate. Let's weigh converse views. The end of Next was an insult. The end of Next was genius. Comparison: the climactic match in Searching For Bobby Fischer. As shown, the bratty rival fails to recognize when he's fourteen moves from defeat. Hypothetical: Joshua nudges him once more to think ahead. Gives him a moment. Bratty rival visualizes how two or three options play out. Sees he's going to lose and that accepting the draw is best option. The End of Next: I bet there were some sharp audience members out there who recognized when the protagonist's next-level premonition begins. It was teased, and the visualization premise was a worthwhile experiment at the very least. Interesting Premise Questions: if your precognition has a 2-minute range, can you double it by predicting what you'll predict 1m59s from now? Moving forward from there, and especially with a boost from meeting your true love, can you lift the limit altogether on your powers of forward-thinking? Chessmasters foresee the ends of games. Tacticians foresee the ends of wars. If you're seeing a movie about a precognitive man, maybe you should just expect it to be about what he foresees.

Everything about the second half of Gone Girl made no sense. Why would Rosamund Pike's character who is on the news for being missing spend so much time in public places. She goes to a casino where there are cameras everywhere but the restrooms. She foolishly tries to set up NPH's character but he has cameras at his place too which record everything. And his family is loaded with money so they're going to do everything they can to prove he's innocent. And the freaking hospital doesn't even bother to wash the blood off her. There's so many plotholes such as the internet trail of her ordering stuff to set up Ben Affleck's character. It's what Roger Ebert called the Idiot Plot Device. If Rog was still alive he probably would've panned the movie.

Even if she was tried for his murder, the point is that she outsmarted him and framed him. The blood on her ... yeah that's just for shock value.

I like most everything about Jurassic Park III but the entire velociraptors storyline. (OK, there are some good bits here and there, like the raptor behind the cylinder, etc., all of which are elements from the first two books that didn't make it into those movies.) Clearly, it's the writing and rewriting that dooms it. The ending was supposed to have a helicopter blow away the spinosaurus, but Spielberg wouldn't allow anyone to hurt a dinosaur for just being a dinosaur.

#10. Glass. M.N.S. wasn't going to top the the other two movies and he couldn't figure out how to end the Trilogy and make anyone happy with it, So he just went for broke in the shock department and just pissed everyone off with it. If you can't beat them and you can't join them... #9. Now You See Me. Now. You. See. Me. He wasn't supposed to show his hand until the end, he was distracting everyone, this is how magic is performed. As with magic, you never see the real performance. Because if you did, it wouldn't be wonderous anymore. #8. Pixels. The whole movie was based on pixelated characters. And it was a good movie if you left your I.Q> at the door and just enjoyed for what it was worth. Then how would a Pixelated life form have sex with a normal Human? It is possible It would just be different, but yes it would have to be weird. As for one character changing in to another, all CGI animated beings are made of the same pixels, just rearranged then changed in color. And no, this would not be as weird as an actual Transformer/Human Hybrid. #7. Jurassic Park 3. Jurassic Park three was an insult to th first two movies to start with. (No, this isn't my opinion.) this movie wasn't even connected to the other two. It wasn't about the park, it was about Paul Kirby's Family. #6. Indiana Jones: The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. There is to be no one by the name of Indiana Jones after him, he has said so himself. However, his Brother had a set of twins that was given up for adoption. There names are Richard Croft and Patrick Gates. His Niece Lara and his Nephew Gen are the next Generation. And they have Four movies between them. And Ben will soon have a third movie. #5. High Tension. Why does there have to be a point? Just take it as the ending this way. The Women that says it is in her head, it wasn't she just thinks it is. That is it. #4. Next. No, it was that the main character saw several future outcomes in the Future before they happened and solved the problem to each outcome before they happened. But he is only supposed to see so many minutes into the Future. No, there are times when he can see further if there is a reason for it, he just doesn't know how. Like with when he saw his then Girlfriend at the is point. The rest of the movie after that point is his ability following the same pattern, just with a longer set of events. This happened in the movie and was discussed with Miss FBI Red Head. This comment is thinking with real world logic in a Sci-Fi Fantasy that already explained what happened. #3. The Devil Inside. She is right about this one. #2. The Fantastic Four. Yes, the movie was terrible. #1. The Open House. She was/is right about this one too. And no, I haven't seen it.

I remember before High Tension was released in the states that it had a Nc-17 rating because of the gore and they were going to release it that way, but when it got closer to the release date they did some editing and the rating was change to R. I was pissed when that happen and I refused to see it in theaters and waited for the unrated version to come out on DVD. Next is probably one of the worst Nicholas Cage movies out there, the ending was such a cop out.

The whole movie (High Tension) is a testimony of an unreliable narrator, as we see in the opening scene. The only scene that doesn't fit this narrative is the scene where the killer throws a severed head from the truck, near the beginning of the move. I guess they wanted to introduce the killer, so when he actually appears it would have bigger effect. This was done somewhat clumsily, but I don't think this ruins the movie. IMHO one of the best horror movies of the decade.

M. Knight should not be allowed behind a camera ever again. Sixth sense was good with it's twist ending. Signs was idiotic. What kind of moronic aliens would try to invade a planet that's essentially covered in a substance that is deadly to them? Then Glass having its superhero drowned in a puddle? What the hell, that's not a twist it's just dumb.

I'll be the one who says it. Adam Sandler is the Uwe Bol of North American cinema. None of the movies he's made under his own production company have been good. A couple of them were alright (Waterboy & Happy Gilmore). But most of them stink. And the only reason why he still makes bad movies is because the industry keeps giving him the money to.

I've been deeply unimpressed by M. Night Shakalaka's entire career. His 'twists' are obvious, for the most part, and in the end he's just not that good a director or writer IMHO. Indiana Jones and Crystal Skull... What a poorly-written money grab. I don't like Shia LeBeouf anyway, and Cate Blanchett's character might as well have spent the movie screaming 'Bring out the fem-bots!'

The Wizard of Oz. The it was a dream was original at the time and fitted the movie very well. It is only the copycats and everything done by M Night Shamalamadingdong that is wrong. Several entries were horror. Every horror movie ending is good. Because you get to go home and start immediately regretting that you ever thought any horror movie could be good. It is a complete garbage genre, barely 1 step above pornography. It is the realm of children, which is why it is so bad. They know their audience.

My problem with Indiana Jones: The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is that not only is it not nearly as good as Raiders of the Lost Ark, but it rather repeats the one big mistake that Raiders had: Even without any involvement from Indiana Jones, the bad guys would STILL have been killed by the artifact they were looking for. Indy could have just sat it out, and the bad guys would either never have found the artifact, or be killed by it.
