No, if you're talking about Smithline, she withdrew her complaint, however the case becomes very murky when you look at the pressure put upon her from "associates" from both sides. Manipulating a traumatized & fragile person is reprehensible - & he certainly has a history of doing so. The other suit from his former assistant was originally dismissed because of the statute of limitations (which always favors abusers) however that dismissal has now been overturned on appeal so there may still be a trial. His whole history with women & underage girls is problematical at best.

@BjornV19946 ай бұрын
@@gingersnaps6004 You really overselling how influential he is or was for music. He is big in the rap game and associated genres but outside of that, you'd be surprised how many people didn't know or care for that matter who Kayne West is outside the controversies he sired. And the reason why many people do know Dolly Parton or Beethoven (personally, never heard about Willie Nelson but country isn't big in my country) is because they either are really mainstream for decades, with a lot of international radio play (can't remember a song of Kayne playing on the radio in my youth or hearing of him prior to his Swift incident) and Beethoven is a literal historical figure and world famous composer long before any of us were alive. But there will be classical composers who have had an impact on the genre that are less known by the wider audience (I mean, the big composers anyone knows about are Beethoven, Mozart, Bach and maybe Tsjaikoviski and Chopin but many others will be only known within their genre...) and this has little to do with being informed... It is simple exposure to it and prior to 2009, Kayne hadn't that much exposure outside his own genre, especially on the international stage and especially if you weren't an avid radio listener, you won't have known who K. West was. People might have heard a song of him but the name wouldn't have wrung a bell. And there will be plenty artists in this same boat: I mean, go to the street and ask: who is Rob Halford? Who is Ronnie James Dio? Who is Doro Pesh? Who is Tom Araya? Who is Bruce Dickinson or Klause Meine? All are important iconic musicians within their genre, who has helped shape it and contributed greatly to the culture around it but how many people will be able to put a band to the name, let alone a face? They aren't the known figures to the wider audience. They don't have the same cultural impact that people like Ozzy Osbourne, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Dolly Parton, Whitney Houston... have and neither has Kayne had in 2009 and I would argue even now and that's fine. Being a titan of your genre is still a large achievement, even if your impact outside it is more limited...

Something a lot of people never understood about Marilyn Manson was that his lyrics were not glorifying sex, drugs and violence, but were actually very much the opposite: He performed as a demonic satire of all the things he despised and wanted the world to reject. And most tragic of all, the misconception persisted to the point that even Manson himself got confused. Mind you, I am in no way excusing his behavior. If anything, the fact that he became the very thing he made a career out of calling out and condemning just makes it worse.
