@@travels_wright@travels_wright As a retired English teacher, I must say that the script and its narration are exemplary. Bravo. By the way, have you ever heard of Montreal's Chalet BBQ? Their reasonably roast chicken, sauce and fries are addictive.

Enjoyed this video very much & the other few I’ve watched thus far. Suggestion for future: Not sure if it’s by design or intentional, to omit to mention what to expect to pay at these spots, knowing what kind of price range would be helpful to try out some of these spots for a special occasion or something to do on any given outing and your added experience if the price is worth the higher prices. Keep on! ❤

Your video was excellent and perfect timing..my nephew and I are visiting Montreal next month for a week....I've been saving food videos/places to see for the past 6 months, and your video was the first not to have the usual places on food....we're so excited to visit Montreal!!

Thank you! I really appreciate the comment. Wow, both you and your nephew will be able to discover a lot here in Montreal if you will be staying for a week. Not sure if it’s your first time but I personally feel you will love the city… If you’re curious, I also made part 1 of my food tour on my channel. For activities, I also made a top 30 list video. Hope these can be just as helpful. Let me know how your trip goes ✌🏾

@travels_wright I've watched all of them!!! This is our first time....I will definitely let you know how our trip goes 🙃....I do have a question....we want to visit the Notre dame des neiges cemetery.....does the metro go by there? That's how we're getting around....or should we take an Uber?

Hello! You can take the metro and then the bus. Don’t think it’s too complicated. The cemetery is also right across from Mount Royal park so you can visit both ! Thanks for choosing to watch the videos on this channel. I appreciate the support.

@marcproulx31124 ай бұрын
Thanks for the video. I’m 59 and I’ve lived in Montreal my entire life but my wife and I travel extensively through the U.S. and Europe, 5-6 times a year. The unfortunate truth is that Montreal has very poor variety and is very over rated as a food city. Chicago, New York, Washington and virtually the entirety of California make it look silly as does almost every major European city. Very hard to find quality outside of French bistros, which all have virtually the same menu. Even the top restaurant rarely offer an elegant experience. Most restaurants are a shadow of what they once were and new restaurants are about a 1 in 10 chance of even being reasonable. We marvel at the food in virtually every destination we travel to. Those who tout Montreal’s food scene would be best to travel a bit more and see what it’s like elsewhere. So although the video was interesting, the truth is a bit different. PS: I’ve avoided mentioning specific restaurants, but we’ve dined at virtually all of the top rated restaurants on every list, including the top one on this list…… nameless, as a Montrealer, you’ll know which one….no ambiance, no space, no elegance, ordinary service and over rated food except for one famous dish. Positively bad desert. Hideously over priced and would be out of business in Chicago.
@travels_wright4 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching ! While I respect your opinion, I would respectfully have to disagree. There is such a wide variety of restaurants in the city as it has become so multi-cultural… people from across the world have brought THEIR culture TO the city… so to say that there is nothing good outside of french bistros is somewhat belittling of the many other great food genres available in the city and also somewhat contradicts your sweeping statement of food automatically being better elsewhere? I personally know restaurant owners that put passion into every plate they prepare so to make sweeping assumptions about all restaurants in the city is unfair. I have travelled in Spain, Italy and certain parts of the United States and you can find both good and bad food / service everywhere. Again, While I respect your opinion, there are thousands who visit the city on a regular basis and share much different viewpoints.
@marcproulx31124 ай бұрын
You are correct on food being opinion… or rather taste. I won’t argue that. Nor will I contradict the good and bad everywhere. But Montreal has so much bad to just ordinary and what we rave about as being great is often very pedestrian. But the quality of food and, very notably, the quality and effort placed in ambiance is really not good in my opinion. 5* Italian, quality Thai, Mexican, gastronomic menu experiences, true white tablecloth elegant dining are all almost absent. The list is much longer, that’s just off the top. As to what is brought to the city from other countries, not fine dining, maybe ultra casual eateries. Just look at this list…. How much high end fine dining is in it?
@travels_wright4 ай бұрын
I can definitely side with the limitations on the selection of fine dining locations in the city…The few that I have gone to have impressed me,personally. However, Sometimes, the best food ,from a taste perspective, come from little holes in the wall 😅 Thanks again for sharing your viewpoint. I appreciate the discussion 👍🏾

Joe Beef is not French cuisine, it's Québécois cuisine. This is like saying American food is British 😂
@travels_wright5 ай бұрын
Haha you’re right. I should have been more specific. Thanks for pointing that out .
@olivierolzolz16934 ай бұрын
Well, it’s not French cuisine but it’s 100% French cuisine inspired: “quenelles classiques en boudin blanc; ris de veau en piperade; magret de canard aux prunes; galette de porc, pommes au Calvados; blanquette de veau aux cèpes, etc.”. So it’s not at all like saying American is British.
