If you use a folding map. Just a suggestion. Get a headlamp that has a red light light mode on it. It makes reading the map way easier at night time.

Excellent video. Really well made. I am so impressed with Lone Rider products. My 1250GSA is starting to look like an advert for Lone Rider. I just received the rest of my Black Friday stuff a week or so ago so another video coming up. I cant wait for the green light to travel & actually use my overlander bags & my mototent. I like the crash bar bags. I would like some, but if I leave my bike I'd be worried about them getting stolen.

Hi, I have a question in regards to the additional lights and headlights protection. Since the bike is registered in CH did you have any issues with Polizei or Straßenverkehrsamt? Reason why I am asking is because I would like to as well get some D7 installed on my on GSA. Greetings Tomasz

You should improve the visibility inside the bags with a colour different to black, e.g. white, yellow, blue .... That would be a huge improvement.

I have 2 x 1250GSAs (1 in UK and 1 in Australia) both for Long Distance International Touring and both fully outfitted with Lone Rider gear as I can't find anything better ! (Nor better Service - Thanks Anna) Curious however that you choose an overlander bag over Motobags for a day ride. I almost always keep my Motobags on the bike as a little extra protection for the bike, and it keeps weight lower down and nearer the centre of the Bike. Motobags also lock more securely to the Bike than an Overlander where I just have to use a SteelCore Security Lock. Any comment on this?

Adapt your kit, I am sure that on the market you can find kits for tube wheels. The general idea is to have with you things that can easily help you to overcome an unexpected situation and to reach your destination safe and to enjoy the ride. Safety is the number one priority, peace!

The GS has no need of Tubes as the spokes are attached at the outer part of the wheel and so outside of the pressure area.

While the idea in general is good, you do not need all that. Tool kit could easily be halved in bulk and weight to fit under most saddles. Simply because if you need to crack open your engine, likely you are not going anywhere afterwards. And unless you are in a Sahara desert, a tow truck is the way to go. Extra gloves? Nope - bulky and useless most of the time. Just get some large, stretchy knit workgloves and wear them either on top, or underneath. You can also do maintenance in them. Saves weight and a lot of space. Separate luggage straps? Just bring a roll of nylon string. A net is probably enough in most cases anyway. Basically, there are ways to reduce all this to stuff you might need only 95% of the times and probably halve weight and bulk.
