The track used at the Pavilion City is called "Sand Terrain Theme" and comes from the Millenium Edition of Heroes II, where it was the main theme of the Sorceress Town

The Dwarf faction is probably inspired by Heroes V Hammers of Fate. They have very similar lineup, only levels of some units are switched. And they also have a dragon, alas non flying one.

I mean, Inferno are basically space faring invader who reproduces better than rabbits and archangels are bioengineered robots made to counter said rabbits. Oh, and some of the ancients left weapons in case of a Kreegans (Inferno) invasion going out of controls. And by that I mean guns... laser guns. Also, there is portals to others universes / plans and magical weapons capable to obliterate the whole world if two of them where to collides. Honestly, even if I could say it would totally not be the same universe, I wouldn't find out of place the idea of the 4 chaos gods from the warhammer franchise coming to might and magic planes of existences as a pastime. Basically the MM original universe is made in a way that make almost anything possible within it. Oh, and let's not speak about our lord and savior, Sandro...

If you stuck at CONNECTING... and crash after pressing new game or load game. open task manager and manually close the 'VCMI server' from previous game. Reboot the game and it should connects. have fun.

Making a new creature / mod and have it fit into the artistic design of Heroes III is an extremely difficult task. The game is 2D but the units are actually 3D models that are rendered in two dimensions. This is why I like WOG-style mods that mainly re-color existing creatures (Third Upgrade Mod follows the same rules) because the creatures do not stick out of the game artistic design like a sore thumb. They fit in, like they were always there.

You are correct with HoMaM being (at least until Ubisoft took over and tried to turn them into Warhammer-fantasy-clone) a mix of fantasy and sci-fi. For example, demons in this universe are actually nomadic alien race and if I am not mistaken, angels are bio-engineered cyborgs xD

Becomes obvious in the Might and Magic games aswell. In MM6 and 7 you actually fight drones and machines. With swords, spears, magic and bows, until you get your hand on blasters.

It would be cool if VCMI added support for the HD art of the official Heroes 3 HD. The missing Conflux art and the other expansion stuff could be repainted by the community, while I suppose all those new towns only needs the author to render the 3D assets to a higher resolution.

Love the video, however like the horde town at the end the Grove town is heavily night elf inspired form wow. It's unique enough with the units alone but the hunters guild is strait out of warcraft 3 and the hero icons include maiev the warden and other nhght elves.

you said in the video that you love the ocean and everything that's in it. Bold statement :) But that's not what I wanted to say. What I wanted to ask is whether you have played Subnautica, and - if you have - what your take on that game is. Also, if you haven't played Subnautica yet do yourself a favor and play it but stay away from all of the spoilers, honestly. Subnautica is one of the most magical experiences ever, but only as long as you don't know anything about the game. If you're gonna read up on the lore / story / plot ... or even on the game itself in general, you'll lose half of the fun. And if you're gonna play it, please, do a blind playthrough. I crave quality BLIND playthroughs of this masterpiece of a game, I think I've watched all of the blind playthroughs of it since 2018 up until today, and I don't think there have been more than 5 blind playthroughs in total that have made the game the justice it deserves, and I'm talking here about at least 30-40 blind playthroughs that I've watched COMPLETELY (and yes, each one of those playthroughs had lasted anywhere from 12-15 hours all the way up to 60 hours or more). You just have no idea what a game Subnautica is until you play it for a few hours and then you won't be able to put it down until you finish it.... and then you wish you had your memory erased so you could play it all over again from scratch so that you can experience the same magic all over again... and again.... Until I've played Subnautica in January 2018 I have always thought that Heroes 3 is the best game ever, but now I'm not so sure anymore lol.... Also, be careful not to play Below Zero first. BZ is the second part of Subnautica, and it's come out few months ago and it's probably good, too, since it's basically Subnautica 2.0, but I've heard fans of this game that BZ can't be compared to Subnautica. It's just not the same, so be sure to play the original first (which - again - is called Subnautica), and only after you finish the original play Below Zero. And then come back to this message and tell me your thoughts about it :) And seriously, if you're gonna do a blind playthrough of the game send me the link or a notice or something cause I crave watching a blind playthrough of this amazing game. Last but not least, you mention in the video that you're east-european (well, I could have probably guessed based on your accent :p), but where exactly are you from? Romania here, by the way...

Interesting story. I checked - our countries had literally zero interaction in the past lol. I think closest we have been, when we shared a border somewhere near Walachia some 700 years ago :D And I just recently watched a movie about Romanian nature on Netflix. Beautiful country you have in there :) I should visit one day (more for the beer and food than the nature though), it's not that far, 2 hours flight with a plane and I'm there. Although I will wait for this pandemic situation to end.

There's a reason why the biggest empires of this planet (austro-hungarian empire, the roman empire, the ottomans, and more recently the ex-Soviet Union) have craved these lands... well, there's more than one reason, but let's just leave it at that! ... Point is, you are welcome to visit, just be sure to visit during the spring-summer months because between may and june the scenery is surreal in the mountaineous areas (around the carpathians that split our country down the middle)... although, the Danube Delta and the Danube gorges on the romanian-serbian borders are scenic, too. But like I said, only in the summer... or when the Sun is shining and everything is green anyway..... As for the Wallachian border with Lithuania: WHAT ?!? I mean, I'm born and living right here in the Wallachian heart but I never knew that we shared borders with Lithuanians lol. How is this even possible given how much far south we are than you and how I don't remember Wallachia to have ever reached so far north (don't bother explaining, I can google it myself :p)

After following the whole process to install the game, get vcmi and copy the folder and adding the "factory town" I thought my life was about to be amazing but as I launch the game through the vcmi launcher this is what I get. Starting... VCMI 0.99 (client) Creating console and configuring logger: 31 The log file will be saved to "C:\Users\Utilisateur\Documents\My Games\vcmi\VCMI_Client_log.txt" Initialization: 78 Data loading: 938 Mod handler: 0 And it doesn't go any further. Any help or recommendation? I feel like Im so close! Thanks

Highlands looks interesting, yet its graphics style is too much like Heroes IV and not III, i think in concept Courtyard looks interesting too, bit too much shiny thing going to maybe Preserve is feels TOO close to Rampart for me New Grove just feels.. off. Maybe saturation went too much (i don't think black spider is the main issue here :D ) Pavillion maybe the most aesthetic in a Heroes 3 sense in this list

I don't think so. Installation guide in the description says that you will need VCMI engine and you can install it on original SoD version or on Complete version (from GOG).
