The patterns Puffer fish make are always the same. Crop circles are a far more varied and complex phenomenon. It's dumb to call Puffer fish patterns underwater crop circles.
@klarag76268 жыл бұрын
While I see why they've called them underwater crop circles, I agree that there is no comparison with its complexity. However, it's not pleasant to have our own comments or ideas called "dumb", so let's not do it to others.

In the area where I live, there is a bridge over a river that forms maelstroms constantly. Quite lovely, they can get to be about 15 or so feet wide, and do to a quirk of the water, appear bottomless.
@PeterMumford8 жыл бұрын
what river, what bridge?
@wolfboy188 жыл бұрын
I am going to butcher the name of the river likely, but it is the Willamette River, and the bridge is an old trestle bridge that was converted into a pedestrian bridge. It's the main river in Oregon.
@Meth0dM4n8 жыл бұрын
+Lone Wolf really? I haven't noticed any maelstroms, what's the name of the bridge?
@wolfboy188 жыл бұрын
I can't remember it's name honestly, but it is the one nearest Willamette river park, I think it is called, and it connects to Wallace Marine Park. If you live in Oregon, it's the one nearish the Gilbert House.

I'm pretty sure many people know what a whirlpool is. Giving it a complicated name doesn't change anything. Also, Rogue waves aren't a phenomenon. They're basically tsunamis out at sea and are mostly found during high winds and stormy weather. Hint hint.
@giovanivirgine2588 жыл бұрын
a rogue wave isn't a tsunami out at sea. In fact tsunamis travel through deep water with most of the wave's parts underwater. Therefore like all waves, when the trough of the tsunami's wave begins to "feel" the bottom and only then does a portion of it rise up above sea level.
@dumb17098 жыл бұрын
+Giovani Virgine I used a metaphor. I don't know what I'm saying. A rogue wave isn't an ocean phenomenon. It's normal, just like everything else on this dying world

To correct you here, green flashes have absolutely nothing to do with oceans. They always occur on sunset at the horizon, no matter the surface they occur apon. Mostly they are barely, if at all visible. You are right, saying they are coursed by scattering the light and dividing the wavelengths, but this is done by the atmosphere not the sea.

Nice ice flower pictures. Bioluminesence is not limited to the depths. Often you can see it on the surface of the water, at night, especially where the water is disturbed as by passage of your boat, or even breaking waves. And of course the land has fireflies and glow worms.

@youjustknowmynamenotmystor87837 жыл бұрын
A tsunami is the most powerful force of water.
@jamesmeritt68007 жыл бұрын
Well, dirt is involved in a tsunami, and storms at sea can generate really phenomenal waves. When I was on the USS Saipan bridge off Hatteras in a storm we were taking blue water over the bow - waves WAY more than 83 feet tall
