Steven, I have every fragrance of Comme de Garcons Incense series including Avignon! I love each one of them. I also have Matiere Premiere’s Encens Suave and Armani Preve Bois Encens as I love the notes in incense perfumes. I have also had Parfum Di Empire’s Tabac Taboo which I should start wearing more often in this colder weather. Tom Ford’s Vert D’Encens is another good one that is unfortunately discontinued. When I was a teen I would by cherry incense sticks. Bought them at head shops. But there was always a mixture of incense aromas that permeated the atmosphere inside. I could never pinpoint what was the scent that stood out. It was heavenly. Well, 40 years later, I finally found that aroma that brings those memories back. Nag Champa. It's a scent originally from India. I don't know what specific notes Nag Champa contains, but I love it. Do you know of any perfumes that are Nag Champa based? I have oils that do the job, but I'd love a sprayer of it. Also, do you recommend any budget incense fragrances?

You should try Startup Aromas, indie house from India. My personal favourite incense of their perfumes is Narco Incense, but they also offer five other perfumes with hojari incense. All of them 40% or more oil concentration and no phthalates or other chemicals

IMHO, for men, Amouage Interlude Man is the king! I just purchased Unum Lavs and can't wait to receive it! I previously purchased Incence Avignon. I love it! To me, if the surface of the moon had a smell, this would be it. It just reminds me of a cathedral on the moon. However, performance on my skin is absolutely dismal! It's like spraying water. It's there one second and gone the next. I therefore keep it for me to randomly smell as an incense reference point.

I don't know if I like "incense" but I do like amber/labdanum fragrances. I also really like Amouage fragrances, but not Interlude Man which is too much for me. It also might be the oregano that I hate (except on pizza). However, I like the resinous smell in the background found in a lot of Amouage fragrances. Maybe I'll have to try a sample of Avignon so that I have an actual reference for incense.

Thanks for another good video. I recently purchased two incense intensive perfumes (blind buy): La Liturgie des Heures from Jovoy, and Full Incense from Montale. They both are supposed to have “churchy” vibes. I own and love Interlude from Amouage, so I was sure that I would love these two new fragrances. However, there is a common note in both of these perfumes (and I don’t know what incense note that is) that makes me physically sick. One spray and I feel that I want to throw up! Has anybody else had such an experience ?!

If you really want a fragrance that will remind you of a catholic church you should try, Botafumeiro by Carner Barcelona. The Botafumeiro (Galician for 'smoke expeller') is a famous thurible in the Santiago de Compostela Cathedral in Spain. There are some very informative KZbin video's on Botafumeiro in the Santiago de Compostela Cathedral you may want to check out. I would say if you create a top 10 incense list but don't include this fragrance, it's a bit paradoxical bordering on hypocritical. That's just my opinion though.
