That’s awesome! I loved the ‘86 Haro Master. My friend Justin Carter got a chrome one after I had my Redline for a while. Sometimes we’d switch bikes during riding sessions. I pulled my first double tailwhip on his Master before I ever did on my Redline. Ride on Chris! 🤙🏽

Troy, you've inspired me not only to keep going in freestylin but to nail the cherry picker this summer. I must do it! Had the California red RL-20II when I was a kid, wished I would've held on to it. But now I have a hazard yellow tribute version that I actually like better. Thanks for posting these videos, super inspiring for us middle agers!

@@trainertroysmith miss those days…rode my haro til I was 19, probably ‘91. Now I’m fifty and fat. What’s the trick where you endo, let go of one handle…wheel goes almost horizontal and you sit on back tire??
@trainertroysmith
@trainertroysmith Жыл бұрын
@@flyphishr yes those were some great days! I think the trick you’re talking about is a Miami Hopper. If you don’t go all the way to the ground (and just endo turning the bars 90 degrees) it’s called a bar endo. If you go all the way down so that the one grip hits the ground and balance there before pulling back then it’s called a Miami Hopper. I totally love Miami Hop Hops… we’re you bar endo and then hop on the front wheel that way. Martin Aparijo used to do that and spin the bars between some hops. So awesome!

@@trainertroysmith she's an early one before they started making them in Japan. Only a few differences. One being the crossbar between the twin top tube slightly forward compared to the Japan edition. I think it was manufactured in California. Mostly intact was thinking about reviving her. @trainertroysmith
@trainertroysmith 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! And no not too many people use forkstanders anymore. One exception I know of is my buddy Jamie Kizer... you can see the forkstanders on his custom old school bike in my video called “Jamie Kizer aka The Enforcer gets RaD.” He actually has both axle pegs and forkstanders that flip up. They’re a bit shorter than some of the old school original ones.

Nice and smooth tricks..by the way what brake is that?and saiz of the tyre?my weight is 85kg..my setup gt is..tyre 1.75 front and rear..chainring 44t..freewheel 16t..brakes dia compe bulldog..tq for your answer🙏👌😍from🇲🇾
@trainertroysmith
@trainertroysmith 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! The brakes are dia-compe. The front is the original, but the back one is a remake 990 center pull (the original broke years ago). I’m not sure of the tire size except that there 20” 😃 I’ll look on the tires to see if I can see a thickness. I weigh about the same as you just a little more: 87kg (or 192lbs). I have freewheel on it too... not sure about how many teeth- I’ll have to count that too. The front axle is still the original 3/8” axle. But the rear axle broke about a year ago... so I got a thicker 14mm with a 3/8” cutout axle that is stronger and still fits in the rear 3/8” dropouts. The cranks are GT power series 3 piece. I’ll try to find the remaining answers you asked for. Oh yeah... and last year I started using clear brake pads that are softer. They grab so well and make the brakes work so well. I don’t have to clean my rims with Simple Green and spray them with hairspray anymore. Thanks for watching and cheers to Malaysia! 🇲🇾 💪🏽🤙🏽

did you ever see where eddie fiola does the backwards spin where his handlebars are spinning in circles and he is going backwards in a circle also? i have no clue how he does that do you?
@trainertroysmith
@trainertroysmith 3 жыл бұрын
No I don’t I have. I sorta I recall people doing infinity rolls while spinning their bars as they continue to “infinity roll.” In fact I think it’s been done sitting on the bike backwards doing backwards infinity roll spinning the bars. I don’t think I myself have seen Eddie do it... maybe it was Rick Allison I saw do it. I’m sure they all can do it. And then there’s Pat Romano who used to have the direct reverse drive hubs where he’d pedal backwards in circles having his bars spinning freely. That looked cool! In fact Pat does that in the bicycle boogie dance scene in the movie RaD. He’s playing Christian Hollings.. and while he’s pedaling backwards with the bars spinning... Martin (playing Cru) then comes past and bunny hops up onto the rail. I think the key to having the bars continually spin is to keep the bike moving. If you stand next to your bike, spin the bars, and walk along with it moving backwards (say just holding the top tube)... the bars will continue to spin. Just have to have the right amount of lean and backwards movement. Maybe this summer I’ll give it a try. I bet it’s hard!

Just a question is it possible to do flatland With a cassette not a free coaster 😋😋
@trainertroysmith
@trainertroysmith 3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. Old school flatland freestyle say in the 80’s was all done with freewheel (what a cassette is today). The only thing is that while riding backwards, you have to pedal backwards as opposed to having free coaster where you don’t have to pedal backwards. So park riding and some new school tricks would be harder to do this way. On my Redline I have a freewheel. I do tons of flatland tricks... anything where I’m going backwards the pedals still turn backwards.
