Thanks, Mattia. I wonder if you could perhaps talk about the most illusive aspect of creation; that is actually hearing the notes and possible accompaniments. The actual "creative" imagination and where that comes from. I am not sure that can be taught. Perhaps over time it can be "developed," but I am not sure. I am blessed, I hear melodies all day long, but, for example, I know a classical concert pianist who cannot play or hear a note without a score in front of her. She literally has a hard time picking out the melody for 'Three Blind Mice' without a score, and yet she is a highly regarded pianist. Many thanks for this excellent work, sir.

Great orchestration lesson. A couple of words about the harmony used in example 7 (third measure)?

By looking at the score it looks like an Ebm(maj7)add6. It comes from the melodic minor scale I think or at least has that herrmann flavor

10:33 Never apologise as your music is being developed and sounds great. We are all in the process of creating music. And remember top tennis players get paid millions of dollars and make mistakes in front of their audience and double fault or miss the ball or hit the net. Imagine what would happen if we did that during a live performance on stage, split and miss the note etc .

Very nice, man. I appreciated being reminded about creating space for the melody to ring out in it's most powerful register. Also using divisi is something I rarely do and should do more. These subtle things are the difference between a good orchestration and a great one. Your orchestration is fantastic, btw. Glad I came across this.
