What's up Kim? I've watched your videos before, but never commented on any; please don't ask why, because I couldn't tell you. Your ideas are really great. I'm from Cleveland, Ohio living in Phoenix, Az. You have given me things to look at doing when I head back home; which will be real soon. Don't get me wrong, I love it out here in Phoenix. But I'm getting up in age, and I think I need to be around my kin folks and friends from back in the day. I just turned 70 the day before Thanksgiving, and I really miss home. The sound of the leaves crunching under your feet while walking through the woods; or just walking down the street. The sound of freshly fallen snow nuder your feet; I kind of miss that. Anyway great video! Peace!

On Sunday, it snowed in Blackpool for an hour. That's winter done with for another year. 😂🤣 The last time we had snow was in 2018 when the Beast from the East came to town and the snow only lasted half a day. The most reliable place for snow is your neck of the woods, Scotland! I once had an amazing New Year's Eve traversing the The Aonach Eagach in Glen Coe. There was more snow than I could shake a stick at. This was followed over night by a battle with a set of Victorian bagpipes, in a friend's house in Glen Nevis while fuelled on single malts. It wasn't pretty but I got it to play a noise.

Great one, Kim! Winter is gently joining us here in Canada, and I was able to capture many of those scenes a few days ago. ( oh, and here's some Canadian lingo: "storm stayed" : when you are stuck in the house due to too much snow!)

Definitely at note taker, this one. On southern Vancover Island, our snow comes so unpredictably, and usually quickly dissipates. When we do have conditions conducive to going out in it, that I find I'm in a mad rush and just start shooting at everything! This is a valuable check list of things to keep in mind as one moves through the landscape. Thanks Kim!

Took some of my best shots in Winter Kim, and attempted most of your ideas in this Vlog, one thing I will have a go at is some abstract shots of ice in puddles, they make for some lovely unique images. Very envious of the two beautiful Red Squirrel shots, last time I spotted one in my area was over 40 years ago 🙁 but it is on my bucket list 🤞

I took notes on this one. I am having eye surgery prior to Christmas and am hoping that I can pick up the camera again and actually see well enough to try some of these suggestions. By the way, I love my lighthouse calendar! Am looking forward to use it in the new year. Thanks for another wonderful video Kim.

I see you’re using a K&F tripod, which model do you use? Would you recommend them?
@kimgrantphotography3 жыл бұрын
I used to have one of their carbon fibre models. Used to love it but recently upgraded to a Benro and it is much better. The K&F was good for the price though but the legs did break after 2 years.
