Not to rant on Marvel any longer, but how could you forget the Much Over-hyped series, 'Marvel's Inhumans?' Staring Black Bolt who couldn't speak and Medusa without the hair sounds like a surefire hit in the making.
@rorylynch777527 күн бұрын
Not really. Inhumans was only made because Marvel didn't have the onscreen rights to the X-Men at the time. Marvel kept trying to push the Inhumans, but a lot of people didn't care. Pretty much everyone knew Inhumans would be bad from the first trailer. Defenders was built up to across five seasons of four shows, and while Iron Fist was bad, people were far more hyped for it than Inhumans. Inhumans was worse but Defenders was more disappointing

I love "Terra Nova", "Heroes Reborn", "Blockbuster", "The Defenders", "Secret Invasion" and "The Idol" - and I regret NOTHING. Well... technically I regret watching some of them, but not for the mentioned reasons... The reason is that some of these shows end on cliffhanges (some fairly major ones) and I will never get to see them continue... And "overhyped" is THE key word here: Whoever overhyped these shows doomed them. People got too high expectations and when the shows couldn't fulfill them, they were disappointed. Without the overhype, at least some, if not all, of these shows would've been received way better. Especially when it's a sequel (e.g. Heroes Reborn) or a follow-up/tie-in (e.g. The Defenders). I haven't seen the others.
@henrikgm65423 күн бұрын
I would have loved it if most tv shows that ends on cliffhangers would at least be able to release a comic that sort of ties it up. This shouldn't be too expensive, and I guess there's enough fans of almost any show that would easily enough cover the cost

It's a little misrepresentation to say the Neftlix shows did anything than happen to show up at the same time. MCU wasn't really a thing back then and had no real plan like it did in the late 20-teens. As a medium it was meant to tell the story of the street level heroes from the comics, while the movies showed the big names. The Defenders were always talked about, but after years of individual shows they kind of just bleh'd the implementation of it. It would have been a much tighter concept to have the intro series for Luke Cage/DD/JJones all run at the same time, then go Defenders when they meet the Iron Fist and Punisher.

About most of these it would only just be an exaggeration to say I never once heard of them. For the ones I have actually watched, either the subject or the reaction is not described accurately in the video. Like with most things Marco Polo was described by media outlets as a rip off of (surprise, surprise) Game of Thrones, quite a few shows had been slandered in this way, (Black Sails) and people complained that its title character was the least interesting part. Which was true. Whether or not the criticisms were fair, nobody said Season 2 was an improvement at the time, maybe you got this from Rotten Tomato scores. Idk. Heroes was famously only good for one season, and nobody was hyped for Reborn. People exaggerated how bad it was after release, being much better than most seasons of Heroes, but obviously failing to live up to the quality of its first season's high bar. It makes perfect sense for Defenders to have the lowest viewership. There is always runoff. Each show is going to have solo fans, and fans who watch them all. Defenders is only for people who watched them all. Post Defenders was like being in an alternate universe because the most common reaction was actually "It's GREAT!" at the time. Even though it was objectively *terrible.* Not mediocre. Terrible.
