Here are some phrases of my student Pep: -Back in the day I used to argue with my father -I visited the oldest castle in Liechtenstein ages ago. -A second ago my teacher was yawning, maybe I am boring her but she told me that she is too relaxed and she' is very sorry

I went to the party a fortnight ago. My last camping trip was ages ago I heard that song the other day The last time I went to the pool was a while ago. I talked on the phone with Jim a second ago. I remember back in the day we used to fish with friends every weekend. So many phrases I didn't know.) Thanks a lot for the video

P.S.: Can you do a video with all the past tenses and the differences between them, please? Or a video with "When we should put 'the' before a noun or when we shouldn't do" or something like this. The expressions that I knew were : "a while ago", " a second ago", "ages ago", "the day before yesterday" and also "when I was a child" but I didn't know the last expression is actually an expression, is good to know ! The last time I attended church was ages ago. I haven't seen my friend Bob in ages. Centuries ago you will be referring to something historical. Henry VIII lived centuries ago. The English Civil War was centuries ago.

Practice sentence: Back in the day when I was in college, I used to listen to a lot of James Blunt. (Actually, he is still one of my favorite singer/songwriters.)

That's a good one. People often think the British are uncommunicative while they are talking. In fact, they use their hands, body gestures and facial expressions all the time.

Thank you for this video! I had never heard back in the day. I’ve heard back then many times. Maybe this is an American expression. For example, if a guy is talking about the 1960’s, he might say” life was easier back then” . That is, in the 1960’s, life was easier.

It was always funny to me how in english they say "the day before yesterday" while for example in polish we have one word "przedwczoraj" which literally means "before yesterday"
