The Nikken has the disadvantages of tele forks added to the complication of leaning quads. No 7 is the much better option. Higher c of g is no problem on a leaning quad.

Vehicles that lean can use camber thrust to turn the vehicle. That is why cones (Styrofoam coffee cups) turn in a circle when you roll them. The big end wants to turn the same number of times as the small end and it has to turn in a circle to do this. Upright vehicles use slip angle related turning thrust. NASCAR oval cars can be set up with camber to the left so that they have to actively turn right to go straight. So if you only turn in one direct non-neutral camber can be useful. There is nothing funnier than an upright trike that uses rounded motorcycle tires that don't lean.

Vintage or custom motorcycles have used front leaf spring suspension. Cars and trucks use leaf springs. The distinguishing feature to use camber thrust is lean to turn.

quad motor cross NOW that's a concept legacy quads are bulky no matter how you slice it, considering they were born from old balloon/ flotation tired three-wheelers because those were killing too many farm boys. this is way lighter and more surefooted and nimble. I think somebody finely got it right. now deep mud would give me concern but you can't have everything Ie physics this would be more fun than getting happy tugged by every pretty girl you've ever met. I'd say and ever will meet but their gonna have to try harder for that. that is if you were young enough to enjoy it. ever think I wish they had those when I was a kid? this is one of those times. cant wait for a lower tricked out street version. you know that's coming, right? 2:40

several interesting ideas, my only question is why they don't use a generator like power source that I had when I was a kid, I had a head light on my bicycle with a generator that you hooked to the front forks, when you needed it you flipped a switch and the head of the generator pushed down against the front tire and as you rode along it provided power for the head light. the faster you went the brighter the light. I have not seen one for years but it worked great. I CAN NOT believe that these so called geniuses can't figure this out , it's works and it's simple!

I'm not sure where you're going with this. Technically there is no reason to go with such an inefficient design for a vehicle that's powered electrically or uses a combustion engine (diesels excluded). Using a separate generator to power the headlight is way less efficient than tapping the power directly from the battery or the ignition system. If you want to use it on a pedal powered bike then go ahead. It works, but there are better options such as hub generators or a few magnets mounted to the rims that passes by a coil mounted on the frame. That's enough to power a fairly stout LED headlight. But even so battery powered LED headlights are cheap and works fine with rechargeable batteries. I remember those old tire friction driven generators. They were never really a good solution, just the only one available at the time. When it was muddy and wet they tended to slip and even when it was dry it was noticeably heavier pedaling when they were engaged. If you were unlucky and the generator slipped on the fork it could end up in the spokes bringing your ride to an un-planed and very violent stop. I for one am glad they're not common today.

Can am spyder could use a dual hub pivoting tire system for the rear wheel with a one piece rock arm that has a mini swash plate pump motors for a split power system built right into it that acts like a transmission and also a breaking system for the vehicle. Be neat to develop a fully electric hydraulic version. 😊

i am hoping for a GREAT leaning trike, if i could make one here is what it would have: front wheel drive, plenty of horse power yet great MPG, independent suspension with off road capability, a convertible hard top with heat and a/c, windshield wipers, reverse, and tunes (music), room for 2 or at least room for some cargo capacity (work tools, groceries, etc...), and most of all under $5000 USD fully loaded.

The Toyota will never properly balance lean and steering. It make occupants feel nauseous. Norman Hossack had a simple design. Sadly (like his low cost bike forks) the designs is ignored by industry. The Yamaha motoroid is too narrow to benefit from the extra wheels. The Toyota Peugeot and Piaggio get the right balance.
