I COMPLETELY AGREE with the last minute, "Terry is Bruce's son," twist. Why?? That completely destroys the story prior. The fact Terry was an everyday kid and not a prodigy like Bruce Wayne. Terry has to deal with school, a girlfriend, and family while balancing being Batman.

In the mid-80's there was a pitch for "The Secret files of the Batman" by Alan Burnett who later worked on developing Batman TAS. Only the pilot got made, titled "The Fear" which was featured in the last SuperFriends series. It was very much a Batman TAS prototype.
@MediaSenseiOGАй бұрын
Very interesting, I'd never heard of this before. So if I'm understanding correctly, the pilot was retooled into a superfriends episode and released that way?

So as an addendum to what you already stated about the cancelled Dark Knight video game, the basic action figure line from Mattel does actually include two characters we would have seen in game only, Firefly and Deathstroke. These are both interesting and more realistic takes on the characters in keeping with Nolan's more grounded Batman world, and are worth looking into if you want to see characters that would have existed exclusively in the cancelled game's world.
@MediaSenseiOGАй бұрын
Bloody hell I'd completely forgotten that those two had figures in that line. I always thought they were bootlegs when I was a kid because they weren't in the movie 😂. I wonder if they actually were from the game. If they were, it's kind of like how the avengers figure line had a figure of a Skrull from THQ's cancelled avengers game, despite the game never releasing

Fun fact, a video game studio I used to work for (Volition in Champaign IL) actually was making a Batman game but couldn't agree with Warner Brothers over the profits. It was scrapped and the code foundation was reworked to become the Punisher game that came out in 2005. For one of my work anniversaries (and them knowing I was a huge Batman fan), one of my managers set up a PS2 dev kit that had the old demo on it. Played a lot like a poor mans Arkham Asylum but was really great for its time.

@@MediaSenseiOG - Matt McNab is a very reliable source, and a very serious collector when it comes to Batman merch. I bought some nice pieces from him over the years. He also published a book about Batman's own toys/gadgets, "Batman's Arsenal", which is a very interesting read that I still have somewhere in my other house... Anyway! That was a cool drawing he got from Jeff Matsuda back then, but as an old school member of the LoG forum, I can't help but think that "The Batman vs Hush" story has been a _tad_ overblown by people who found out about it many years later. There seems to be a lot of people who are somehow under the impression that it was "almost made but scrapped at the last minute", claim that there is lost footage of it, or going as far as to call it a *CANCELLED BATMAN MOVIE/LOST BATMAN MEDIA* or something to that effect. In reality, it was just one of hundreds of ideas that various DC writers threw at the WB executives, and didn't stick to the wall... can we really call it "cancelled/lost" if it was never greenlit in the first place? The poster by Matsuda was just a little bonus to give WB some visual, but that movie had no script, nothing. WB prefered to keep on going with their idea of having the Batman face-off against more Universal Monsters like the Wolf Man, Frankenstein's monster, the Mummy, etc... which didn't pan out in the end. While I'm on the subject of Hush, since my man Rob Allstetter (the guy who started the rumor that, well, the vigilante "Rumor" was originally supposed to be Hush) never gets any credit anymore for that scoop, I figured I would copy-paste the quote that started it all => "We wanted to do a Hush story, but I think DC wanted us to stay away from him for a little while, so this story turned into a villain whose name is Rumor," Burnett said. "He's a guy who's trying to clean up Gotham even more than Batman is. Trying to clear up Gotham to the point of homicidal activity. So he has to be stopped."

The Series Is A Partially Found. But Most English Voiced Episodes are Still Lost Due to Very Little People Knowing about It. Another Reason it’s So lost and Obscure is Because Kabillion Cancelled it After Low Ratings Came, and It’s High Amount of Sexual jokes Didn’t Make it Better, Especially in Think Extinct. It got To the point where They Deleted Most of the Videos off the Internet. The Cartoon is Called Bunny Maloney if you Want to Search it Up(Playlist on KZbin has Most Episodes). My understanding of The Batman vs. Hush is that it was repurposed into the Dracula movie we actually got. The artwork you showed was recycled into the tie-in comic cover with Dracula in the background instead of the Rogues Gallery. I recall reading either Matsuda or Burnett (or both) mentioning it in some interview somewhere (perhaps also the World's Finest site). I'm glad we got other stuff instead of Hush in any case.
@MediaSenseiOGАй бұрын
Interesting. Based on what I read, it sounded like they had a plan to introduce Hush eventually but just weren't allowed. While it would've been cool to see him, I understand why they didn't use him, I can't imagine he'd have been a very faithful adaptation of the character. I had no clue they used that artwork for a comic, that's pretty cool since the artwork looks really good. An interesting case nonetheless
@doofyproductionsofficialАй бұрын
@@MediaSenseiOG I recommend tracking down the issue if you're a fan of that incarnation. I believe it's The Batman Strikes #15. It's meant to be a teaser prelude, but it actually serves as sort of an Act One deleted scene or an alternate beginning because the Penguin has either already started working for Dracula or Dracula is already active as opposed to being awoken like in the movie (it's been a long time, so please forgive my memory), and it gives us a bit more development of Bruce and Vicky's relationship. It also involves the Kabuki Twins, whom I don't recall being in the movie. That was a good series in general. There were something in the ballpark of 50 issues and they're really enjoyable comics that fit nicely with the cartoon, as well as just being entertaining standalone Batman yarns. They should be fairly cheap in the back issue bins.

@MediaSenseiOGАй бұрын
To my knowledge there have been two cancelled video games based on The Dark Knight Trilogy. The first one (which we talked about in this video) was made to tie into the release of The Dark Knight in 2008 and was developed by Pandemic and EA, whereas the other game was developed by Monolith presumably at some point between The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises' releases but that was scrapped and was eventually repurposed into Shadow Of Mordor which released in 2014.
