No, FD have called this one correctly. Walker is 34 now and City have so many defensive options (Laporte, Dias, Lewis, Ake, Stones, Akanji) that they can afford to move Walker on to, say, Newcastle, who might be looking for an experienced Champions League defender to join their squad for next season. As an Arsenal fan, it has been hilarious to watch Sp*rs get torn to shreds more often than not (most goals conceded in the opening 15 minutes this season by some margin). It would make sense for Sp*rs to move on both Son and Kane due to age and wages - Sp*rs will be missing out on Champions League and possibly also Europa League (dependent on how Aston Villa do with their remaining fixtures) but Sp*rs also have a history of signing pretty awful forwards for big fees (Janssen, Bergwijn and Richarlison come to mind). Son has already been replaced by Kulusevski on the wing anyway and Perisic is a squad player at best now. Sp*rs need a huge cleanout - their midfield is poor, the attack is aging and the defence is unreliable and seems slow out of the gate. The only players Sp*rs should look to keep are Hojbjerg, Kulusevski, Winks, Forster, Bentancur, Romero due to his long contract, Tanganga and Spence - everyone else should be

He's still good but for how much longer, a player that relies on pace like him isn't gonna last into his late 30's so giving him another contract only for him to decline each year would be madness. Far better to cash in now whilst they still can and work on developing a player for the long term. People thought they were mad for letting Aguero go when he was still producing but it was the right call, imagine if they'd given him another deal and were potentially still having to pay him today. The one thing Man City can't buy is more squad space, overfilling the dressing room will lead to the mess Chelsea are in RN, so they can't waste squad space on players who don't have a long term future at the club. They don't need Walker to be successful so they should give his place to someone younger.

As a Liverpool fan I’m really coming around to the idea to letting Thiago leave next summer he’s an an absolute unbelievable player on the ball technical ability utter class oozes out of him, one the best technical players to play in the premier league no doubt but he’s just unavailable too much, I beg he’s been unavailable more times than he been available since joining and on big wages cant really have that sitting on the injury table, the best thing about a footballer is just being available is the most important thing regardless of the ability

Seemed to be the fsg model for a while though. That players were going cheap because of their injury record so they signed them hoping they'd stay fit. Losing the teams head doctor, never really replacing him and having issues since is worrying though.

David De Gea should not stay at United under any circumstances, for either financial or footballing reasons. He is paid >£20m a year. Dean Henderson is paid >£5m a year. Dean is a MASSIVE upgrade on De Gea in terms of distribution, sweeping, and commanding his area (even though he's not elite, De Gea is just trash). The only downside is his shot stopping 😅 but the other things may well make up for it. So even Henderson makes more sense than De Gea. But if you decided to sell Henderson as well, then if you sell him for just £20m, you'd now have £45m to spend. Brentford want £40m for David Raya, and giving him Henderson's >£5m salary would QUADRUPLE his pay. Unless you think United wouldn't get that much for Henderson, that means all United would be out of pocket for would be sign on fees and agent fees. 😅

Kyle Walker isnt comparable to David Silva or Kun Aguero. Silva went to his childhood team in his native Spain and Aguero went to Barcelona, 1 of the biggest teams in the world, and moved to a Spanish-speaking country. Doubt Walker will leave City for Barcelona or Real Sociedad or even Real Madrid.. If Kane leaves, Spurs should renew his contract, preferable with a lower wages. They still need him and doubt he will be resold at a profit.
