You're confusing Schmidt's and Schmidt, two different beers if I'm not mistaken. Schmidt's (of Philadelphia) was a beer I loved. Schmidt was from the Pacific Northwest and not related to Schmidt's. If I'm wrong please correct me, but I don't think I am.

Schmidt's had a brewery in Cleveland OH where I grew up. It was my favorite for awhile --- had a somewhat sweet (malty?) taste. Went great with pizza

I remember Schlitz because there was a commercial that featured an Asian woman who would call it “Schits.” At least it sounded like it. 😊

Drewery and Old Style Beers were advertised by Dizzy Dean on network television baseball games. There was also Budweiser that was advertised by Harry Carey on Chicago Cubs baseball games.

Will always remember drinking Schlitz because my dad did...used to send me to the local grocery store to pick up a six pack when I was a kid... once I figured if I could buy beer for him, I could buy for me and my friends... I've been drinking Miller high life since the eighties after trying lite beer because of the commercials ... Like watching movies to see what they're drinking

Pearl Beer. Had it when I was stationed in Florida.
A few years back, I read an article where the Pennsylvania alcohol control board did an inspection of a bar and found that every tap of American "lager," regardless of the brand name on the tap, were ALL attached to kegs of the same cheap shitty faux-lager. I'm sure they're not the only bar owners who've figured out that American "beer" drinkers can't tell the difference between one brand of piss and the next.

Liked Schmidt’s of Philly in the early 80s. Also the Rheingold. Blitz was terrible, Schlitz originally is good, Hamm’s is okay if it’s on sale, I was too young for Burgermeister, loved the puzzles under the Lucky Lager caps, Wiedemann’s was a good cheap option.

Piels was the last real American beer standing but unfortunately went out of business like the rest of the smaller breweries. It was consistent, affordable and had some hops in it which is what gives beer it's flavor. Somebody tell Budweiser and Coors please. They've been making club soda with a squirt of alcohol and call it "Beer"!

Wiedermann's - "America's Only Registered Beer". I'm not so sure that's a good thing. Wiedermann was from Newport, KY which is right across the river from Cincinnati. You could easily do a video on just beers from Cincinnati. There used to be a bunch of them.

Almost all the beers in both this video and the previous video have one thing in common: they got ruined by big corporate operations. Happens moe and more often--small, local private businesses and practices get bought out by mega corps and lose all identity and connections to their communities. Just sucks.

Back in 1972, you could pick up a 6-pack of Schmidt's for 89¢. Yeehah. And of course, after the first couple of bottles, the "cool thing" to do would be to fold the label (which had been loosened by condensation) to hide the c, m, and d.... Surprising not to see Schaefer, $5 a case way back when. And Rheingold....... AND...remember when you needed a can opener (/church key)...?
