Actually, the more you stretch resolution horizontally, the faster they appear to move. But it's just a placebo, because enemy will come out of cover in the same same amount of time in any resolution, but since they are thicker, they need to "move faster" to come out of cover in the same amount of time. Streched resolution makes easier to hit standing targets at high range and playing pixel angles, also additional bonus is that it gives little bit of more fps.

@legaltycena79339 ай бұрын
Because it stretches everything your sensitivity will feel off. Because the horizontal sensitivity will be higher because everything is stretched. So if yiu see an enemy you might overflick because you are used to flicking on the recommended aspect ratio. That happened to me so I dont use stretch because it messes up my flicks
@powdercanister30009 ай бұрын
@@legaltycena7933 Really? I mean it doesn't change sensitivity at all - you still need to move the same amount of lenght with your mouse to make 90⁰ flicks and 180⁰ degree flicks. Only thing what it changes is field of view - at native resolution and 90 field of view, from the middle of the screen to the side of the screen with no zoom optics there is 45⁰ angle, but if you use streched resolution your field of view becomes less 90⁰, because you cutt off sides of the screen and strech the image. So if you flick with streched resolution 45⁰ degree angle, you will overflick what you see in the screen. I can change resolution - It looks weird to my eyes at first, but sensitivity always feels fine.

11:50 I have many Problems with this video but the big thing here is the FPS limit. When you dont have a FPS limit your PC pushes as much as it can do. But the Problem is, your PC is running other things to. Just Windows and your PC fans could be a Problem on lower end PCs. A Program does something and your PC need a bit power of your GPU or CPU. The Problem there is that you feel the Change in FPS. For most PCs its not the Problem of Hitting for example 144FPS. The Hard thing is keeping it there. If it drops you fell it. 50 FPS is much more playable than 90FPS often Dropping to 70. The Differenz is the Problem. And back to The FPS limiter, when you take that used Power from the game you get such a drop in FPS. Thats why you should but the limiter at a Frame rate you PC can hold stable.

@gauede26089 ай бұрын
This is not how pc:s work homie, they won't push themselves to their limit without an fps limiter, but your monitor can only display the fps of your refreshrate, so having higher FPS than your monitors refreshrate can cause screen tearing, which is why V-sync exists. Your pc parts limit themselves somewhat too and when you lower your settings, you won't get higher FPS therefore, instead you'll get lower usage and less perfomance most of the time. The CPU has priority on demanding tasks and the GPU will put itself into like a "rest" mode of sorts when it isn't utilized or needed. Essentially what your settings does, is tell your pc how much you will need the GPU, if it's too low, it will simply not even use the GPU, and it won't start using it as the ingame experience gets more demanding, it'll just give lag spikes instead. There is a minimum threshold to hit with your settings in order for your GPU to be utilized, so low settings usually gives worse overall perfomance as your CPU works harder and your GPU works less. In order for your FPS to go to limitless heights, the game has to be programmed that way, to always use atleast 90-100% of your GPU/CPU no matter the settings, but no game is.

Just pointing out that VRAM does not affect performance. Loading textures into memory takes a ton of VRAM but only affects FPS on a decimal level if at all. (however going ABOVE your VRAM may cause stuttering or crashes) Also, more FPS does not mean better. Your FPS should match your screen HZ or get as close to it as you can. So a 144hz screen you would benefit the most from 144 fps. Higher FPS does mean a hotter GPU as well because it has to render more frames, which means your GPU will die quicker. Heat = Bad. VRAM is only shown so that you do not exceed the VRAM available to you, because the game will often crash if you go above what you have. HUGE thumbs down for recommending people to turn off FPS limiter.

Unless your pc is literally 30 years old or extremely low end, in which case I doubt you'll be playing r6 on it, uncapping fps is hella beneficial, even if you're rendering more frames than what your monitor can, more fps means less input lag and overall responsiveness, so even if you don't see the extra frames you're still getting a huge benefit. And no gpu made by Nvidia or AMD in the last 15 years is going to overheat just because you unlocked your fps, if your gpu does that then replace the thermal paste because it would be overheating in EVERY GAME with or without an uncapped framerate. And gpus have a thing called a heatsink, yes, a gpu that is rendering more frames will get hotter, but thats kinda what they're made for, to render frames, to paint the polygons the of each individual image you're seeing.

About the fps limit: There actually IS a reason to limit it. Specifically for three reasons: If your pc can't run at your monitor's refresh rate, it will be trying as hard as it can to render at the highest fps it can at all times. This is probably not good for your computer. Secondly, screen tearing. If your fps is higher than your monitor's refresh rate, you may experience screen tearing, which is just flat out annoying. Finally, if your monitor's refresh rate is 144 Hz, having 200 fps is going to be completely useless. It can either do nothing, or it can cause screen tearing. The latter is more likely, by the way. TL;DR - If your fps is higher than your monitor's refresh rate, you may experience screen tearing. It will also be useless because your monitor can't display it. If the limiter is turned off, your PC will be expending unnecessary computing power trying to render those useless frames. Edit: Mb screen tearing doesn't usually happen due to high FPS.

A couple of things about the graphics settings. Changing the game quality to low often ended up reducing the amount of frames I was getting. In fact, I couldn't get my average up to 142 frames until I downloaded the ultra HD texture pack, with low texture settings I was getting like 80 on average. I spent a few hours doing benchmark tests to see which settings actually eeked out the most frames, and counterintuitively, I was getting more frames the higher the texture quality was, reflections and shadows still ate my processing power unnecesarily. Turning anti-aliasing off actually reduced my framerates too. This may be because of render scaling, since I have that set to the lowest setting.
@gauede26089 ай бұрын
This is because there is a threshold for which your PC stops utilizing your GPU and makes your CPU work harder, to save on things like electricity and such, or keep temps lower. You NEED to have reached a minimum graphics quality threshold or your GPU simply won't be used as much as you want it to, it doesn't work harder to achieve a higher FPS, it only works as hard as it needs to and has been told to do through certain settings. Your CPU has priority usage during most demanding tasks as a default, so the settings tells the PC how much of the GPU is actually needed or not for that specific program, rather than increasing FPS. Essentially what your settings does is tell the PC how much of the GPU is needed, not how much FPS to achieve.

@@nickclark3861 when did I ever say that the CPU is good at graphics rendering? If it was, the GPU would have no purpose at all. It doesn’t change the fact that the GPU will transfer most of the workload to the CPU if the settings are below a certain threshold. There is a reason why the workload is transferred on LOW SETTINGS, while the GPU takes over on HIGHER settings, meaning the CPU obviously is not good enough to run the game in any way equal to the GPU. The GPU however is hardwired to not utilise itself if it isn’t needed & it won’t magically wake up if your settings are too low. This is why you get lag spikes on low settings whenever there is a moment with a lot of things happening at once. Try it yourself before talking, this is how it works for any game. You can literally google too, do that before talking about sht YOU don’t understand, obviously. The GPU won’t keep gaining performance as your settings get lower, it will just limit it’s usage instead, while prioritising electricity or temps, over performance. You NEED a minimum threshold on your settings for your GPU to not prioritise those things. Often times this is ATLEAST medium settings, but if you’re like me, with a 2070 super, anything under high on most settings causes worse overall perfomance. The GPU is just a help tool for your CPU, your CPU is the brain of the PC & your GPU isn’t actually necessary unless you’re running on AMD, as most their CPU:s are purposely made to be used with a GPU, but not all. AMD is therefore obviously better at preventing this issue of low GPU usage, but if you have integrated graphics on your CPU, your GPU simply will not be used almost at all on too low settings.
@gauede26088 ай бұрын
@@nickclark3861 I used to play Rust a lot a while back, I always had the absolute worst perfomance, could barely hit 60 fps with most settings on low. This made no sense to me as I had a gtx 1660ti at the time. One of my friends told me that I need to get my graphics up if I get get under 60fps on low settings so I brought it up from a 1/5 to a 3/5 & right away I was averaging 90-100fps. I later compared the usage on my own to find out that low settings put my CPU at 90-100% usage, while my GPU was peaking at 10% usage, this was a result of having too low settings for my hardware, causing it to skip out of performance for no apparent reason. That’s when I first figured this out. Obviously I’ve researched this topic a lot since then so don’t talk bs dude, you DON’T know.

Settings does not work as simply as "lower settings = more fps", there is a threshold for your graphics settings that makes your GPU work less, but in turn it makes your CPU work harder, giving you less overall performance in most cases. Allowing your GPU to have too many free resources left, means that it won't fully be utilized. The CPU has priority to to meet a performance demand as default. If you go too low on your graphics settings, you're just lowering the GPU usage, while increasing CPU usage. Most of the time, you'll get worse framerates if you use low settings as the GPU doesn't work harder to achieve a higher fps, it works harder when it actually needs to. They are built as such to save on electricity when they aren't in use and they will "park" those extra resources. Essentially, what your settings does, is tell the pc how much of your GPU is actually needed, not how much FPS to achieve. Lower settings = lower usage = less perfomance when it's so low that your GPU puts some performance in a state of rest.

It is 100% preference. It used to be thought to run 90 FOV and now alot of pros are running 80-90 depending on their Aspect ratio. 4:3 things will be slower when you peek, and higher aspect ratios will be faster when you peek meaning on 16:9 you will see them first. 4:3 or really any other stretched res depends on playstyle. If you are a 1x god play 3:2 4:3 or 5:4 which ever works for you. If you play zoomed optics play 16:9 or 10 you will have more peripheral vision. Edited Also if you only have 144 hrz monitor you dont really need to max your Frame rate over that. I get roughly 300 FPS. my Monitor only gots to 144 thats all i see. Also siege in 2024 can be run on a damn potato lol. It doesnt put that much stress on your GPU. Unless your rig is from 10 years ago then maybe.

Video is good mostly, but couple things I'd like to say, graphics presets likely don't need to be set to low, unless you're on an old PC/laptop, so if you want the game to look pretty, make it look pretty, which leads into another point, there's zero point to get more fps than the amount of hz you have for your monitor, so lock your fps, though I must say I have 165 hz and there's no option for that if yours is the same use vsync (1frame) and keep the limit off. There zero point of having extra fps if you can't see it. It's not going to make a big difference keeping the limit off but it will save resources. Sure graphics saves resources aswell but again old game, so it's mainly just because there's no point in not matching you hz to your fps.

Only one I disagree with is that stretched is mandatory. There are advantages to both widescreen and stretched, and disadvantages to both widescreen and stretched. Saying 4:3 is better than 16:9 is wrong, it's simply a preference. Do you prefer wider enemies but visually faster looking enemies? 4:3 is the way to go. Otherwise 16:9 is fine (oh and it makes the game look not like shit... so you know, there's that) 4:3 vs 16:9 on a widescreen monitor has been debunked as any sort of advantage for years now. It's simply a preference. Just like your mouse polling rate or DPI or resolution etc.

ooookay, 1 thing I noticed is the fps section. Higher number does not equal better. For example, lets say you have a 144hz monitor and your game normally runs at 200fps consistent. You should set your fps limit to 144 in this scenario. Even when the game is limited at 144fps it is still rendering as well as before without the limit, your fps is still tecnically 200, it's just getting cut down to 144. The reason the fps limit is good isn't massive, but it is a strict improvement if you can set the limit to match your refresh rate.

11:44 For everyone new on games watching this: There's a big reason to limit FPS tho. If you're on a PC with a bad Graphic card, low on RAM, or bad CPU and so on. Let's say you get the max of 80 fps, but since it's not limited, you might get stutterings and drop to 60. This is a huge drop and you'll see it, if you're in a gunfight it's an immense disadvantage. So in low PC specs cases like this example you should limit to 60, since you're dropping to 60. I would never recommend going below 60 tho

TV Mode might even be the best. Gives you enough dynamic range to hear how far away footsteps are without making them too quiet. Him saying TV mode is terrible but Hifi and Night mode aren't makes no sense at all since it's literally the middle ground between the 2.

For number 2 I disagree in that it makes games look better. It adds a lot of jaggies and aliasing that will jitter. Bright pixels that turn dark then bright really fast on anything that is angled and thin. To me it is extremely distracting. Of course it's all personal preference but a sharper image definitely isn't for everyone.

Personally can’t recommend turning graphics down to low as siege is funnily enough “actually decently optimised” and you will get minimal fps gain by doing so. Remember, you need to have pc parts working effectively together, if your gpu is doing practically nothing and waiting for your cpu to catch up (which btw graphics settings won’t effect much at all), then you will infact hurt your performance by introducing input lag. Jacked frames are good but balance is better. Also DO NOT TURN OFF FPS LIMITER. Having a limiter on your fps means you will have a smoother over-all performance and not have to worry about random spikes. The fps limiter also prevents fps runaway which also introduces input lag, not good. Also there isn’t any point in trying to render frames that your monitor can’t even show, I personally have a 165hz monitor but tbh I just stick to 120fps as that seems to be enough for me. Many people still run 60hz monitors so it would be utterly pointless driving over 100fps as you won’t even see the difference and it will only reduce performance. Summary: Point being, if you have anything beyond a gtx1070 you are safe to crank those settings up no problem. You must balance your settings with your gear and understand how imbalance can hurt performance rather than assist it.

W vid, though I will say it takes a good amount of map knowledge/game sense to get the most out of Night Mode audio; it does make footsteps and quiet sounds easier to hear when there is gunfire, but at the cost of the quiet sounds being so suppressed it can be very difficult to determine their distance from you. Even with that drawback, I still prefer Night Mode as good players will mask their sound queues much easier with Hi-Fi

There is definitely a reason to limit fps... stuttering. Going from 400 to 200 fps is still a noticable drop and can throw you off. Stable 144 or even 165 is better than unstablr 200-400

If you have an RTX card of any kind 20-40 series crank your graphics up to the max, this game is 9 years old now your GPU if it’s an RTX card (even a 2060) won’t have issues running out of vram. Personally I have a 4070 all settings max & my fps is a solid 240 95-99% of the time.

The biggest thing I disagree with is the anti aliasing. On most systems these days T-AA even at 100 render resolution wont impact your frames enough to be below your monitors refresh rate. And playing without any anti-aliasing fatigues your eyes much quicker, and you also have to take longer to discern if flickering from edges of objects in your peripheral are from gadgets or enemy operators, or just bad rendering artifacts. Also playing a super sharp looking game can fatigue your eyes making spotting enemies over a play session more difficult.
@JinxTheVibedog8 ай бұрын
Yo the fps limit is a good thing, if you get 200fps but you have a 144hz monitor, the only difference is wasted performance because 144hz can't see 200fps

Call me bad but I went from copper 5 to bronze by switching Dynamic Range to Hi-fi… playing on Night Mode was a NightMare because I felt lost, I could hear everything but didn’t really know if someone is close to me or not. Maybe in higher ranks you are better and identify source of sound a lot of better, but for noob like me having sound with more specific directions is great
@Flaxxkko9 ай бұрын
Naa don’t worry you aren’t bad, and you are also right. Nightmode lets you hear everything by making the sounds more compressed. Hi-Fi has is less compressed and gives you that directional sense of hearing you get that allows you to know where they are coming from. Personally I’ve played on both and prefer hifi as it’s more reliable but if if I blast my headset just enough I can make out what direction they are coming from with nightmode but it’s really tough

There is actually a reason to have your fps capped, not exactly at what your refresh rate is but a little bit above. This is because your pc rendering frames above 144 for example is redundant anyways when you only have a 144hz monitor, and your computer actually rendering all those "useless" extra frames just slows down your pc. Think about it, your pc is working hard to get those high frames, when a bunch of stuff happens and your pc is trying to get as high frames as possible it can actually cause your pc to overwork and have an adverse effect momentarily, as opposed to cruising at a framrate your pc can easily keep up with and will remain stable no matter what is happening on your screen. Sorry for the rant but it does help you in game lol
@dogod12379 ай бұрын
yes, and sometimes no. In a perfect world your frames, capped at 144 with 144hz refresh rate, will stay at a constant 144 and you'll have no frame drops. However, some games, computers, and certain situations will cause you to drop frames, even if you shouldn't because your computer is using maybe 50% of your cpu, gpu, vram, ram, etc. Your best option is to usually cap your frames 10~ higher than your refresh rate, as it'll stay consistent through minor frame drops (even if they do get a little out of sync or you skip a frame or 2). AFAIK though siege forces your highest frame cap to your refresh rate, so unless your computer is barely able to handle your refresh rate in frames, or you're trying to run something else simultaneously, or you're just trying to save a little bit of money on power & ac, I'd just uncap your frames. It's less stable and you may drop a few, skip a few, etc, your fps won't vary to your knowledge.

Having everything on low is not essential, and having Max frames is also not essential. Having at least whatever your monitor support is what’s essential. I have all my graphics on Max and I still hit 240 frames which is what my monitor supports.
