Adrian! Question... What would you pick? Rolex 116710ln or the 16710 coke? I'm torn and need other opinions
@BarkandJack6 жыл бұрын
Ooh. That's a hard choice. Before my Batman, I would have said the 16710 coke in a heartbeat. But now I have the batman, the new GMTs feel amazing. The 16710 coke is by far the better at holding value, however the 116710ln is by far the better-made watch. Looks wise I'd say the coke is slightly better looking, but over all I'd probably go with the 116710ln, as along as holding value isn't an issue for you. Either way, you're looking at 2 great watches. Try them both on and you should feel a better connection to one of them. Good luck.
@BojanglesBrett6 жыл бұрын
@@BarkandJack thanks man, yeah I was leaning towards the LN purely because of that bracelet and in the long run if I don't plan of flipping any time soon the ceramic bezel would be he better choice, I'll probs head in that direction, tbh I saw your video on your batman and that swayed me towards the newer models :p anyway keep up the great content man :)

I own a 6694 oysterdate precision 34mm in a gold shell case dated to 1957. The seller said it's known as a "tropical" due to popularity in the Middle East. I've fitted a teju lizard strap in dark brown which compliments the case. Here in Britain I've never seen another. My son wants it but it might go to my grandson.
@damnndamo60866 жыл бұрын
You have lucky grandson!!
@MattoDesigno6 жыл бұрын
It's called a tropical as the batch of dials didn't have the anti UV coating, so when they were worn by people in sunny tropical countries it would break down and develop a brown hue. The Middle East isn't tropical.

You mentioned the Orchid, but did not show an example, perhaps because it is a womans' model. I knew about the Midas, which was a Cellini model, though I did not know it was favored by Elvis. The older (mid-1970's) versions of Cellini were quite beautiful pieces, but not water-resistant, nor terribly rugged. Great video!

Whats's wrong with the Quartz movements? You say you hate quartz. The quartz movements is much more complex and fascinating: it is a mechanichal movement that gets his signal to move from a microprocesor (wow!). The way that microprocesor uses the quartz to get the timing it's just mindblowing. Your only problem is that Quartz are cheap, therefore you hate it (that says a lot about you). Get some reaserch, see how many "premium" quartz movements and watches exists out there.

When you get to # 9 Rolex at 2:12 the watch looks like it has a cheap stainless steel plating on the outside. Is this a real Rolex or a replica? Just askin because I didn't know Rolex made a watch that looks that cheap. # 8 at 3:68 that band looks like it is wearing off and has rust between the links. It may just be the way they look in the video.
@Romio6666 жыл бұрын
Paupers Budget the older models though valuable, they look much cheaper, as they develop the design using new technology overtime and learning from there mistakes. You have to love Vintage patina to digest older models.
