I have seen and heard of people taking up the sport but not finish training or they just give up. Here are 10 things to think about before you consider it and its too late.
10 Reasons NOT To Take Up Paramotoring is my honest opinion which I want to share on KZbin based on my first year in the sport:
10 - Patience - You will need it. The weather does not always play ball.
09 - Fields, LZ’s - You have to have a few alternatives. Knock on doors !
08 - The Cost - Mishaps (during training) can cost you (props, lines etc) + maintenance
07 - Maintenance - learn about 2 stroke engines, fault diagnosis and how to maintain them
06 - Social - You will get to know lots of new people, attend events, fly in’s etc.
05 - Weather - You will need there right equipment, it can be cold at height
04 - Learning - There is a lot to learn (airspace, FAA, CAA regs, weather, thermals, launching etc etc)
03 - Obsessions - You will become obsessed with Aps, weather, LZ’s etc
02 - Heights - You may not realise how it effects you until you do your first flight. Some dont even realise they are scared of heights
01 - Fitness - Foot launching, kiting and the weight of your paramotor, especially if you have failed launches can take its toll if your not able. Consider a trike if this is going to be an issue.
Fly safe everyone
