Ppl always talk about 10 scoring titles... But leading the league in total points 11 times is even more insane, as it also displays his commitment to no days off

Is there any difference between scoring title and leading the league in total points, aren't total points made up of combined field goals and free throws?! In association football (soccer) the total points are goals added to assists, but it ain't so in basketball. 'nuff said.
@Daveyboy_GolfR
@Daveyboy_GolfR 5 ай бұрын
@@emekaezeokoli1287 scoring title is points per game average. Leading the league in total points is based on your total accumulated scoring. Jordan won the scoring title 10 times but led the league in total points 11 times. You have to play a lot of games to lead the league in total points, but not to win a scoring title.

@@emekaezeokoli1287 Nuff said? Total points leader and scoring Title are two different things genius. Scoring title is the player with the most PPG avg, regardless how many games they played. Total points leader is an accolade for the player who scored the most total points that season. Jordan was the total points leader in his rookie season, but Bernard King won the scoring title.

Michael didnt take days off unless he had to because his team losing any game, even exhibition or pre-season was like a nightmare to him. he didnt want to give another team anything... thats why he was commited. he couldnt stand to lose even if hes not in the game, he was obsessed with domination, he wanted to break every opponents spirit down to the core. he was even willing to jeopardize his career remember him wanting to come back early from broken foot eventually team had to surrender to him but with time restriction because he was so addiment. he couldnt stand his team losing

Jordan is the greatest offensive player of all time, arguably the greatest defender (which is where he massively separates himself from Lefraud), the greatest postseason player ever and also the best ever in the finals going 6-0 and never even playing in a game 7. What the hell else is there???

Great observations! One shudders at what his postseason offensive and defensive stats would have looked like if all 6 Finals had gone 7 games apiece. However, his near-perfection [he ain't our Lord Jesus Christ, please!] ensured that it didn't happen -- meaning you can't have it both ways! 'nuff said.

Well stated! Just like the then-former running back Jim Brown played the "man game" [then-Celtics centre Robert Parrish's(?) description of Hakeem Olajuwon's physical basketball game], by getting "in the trenches" plowing his yardages. That informed his miff when Franco Harris was inching closer but slowly to his record, thereby prompting Brown's threat to come out of retirement. He berated Harris for "playing it safe" and stated his preference for Walter Payton as the potential record breaker because the latter played the "trenches" game. An all-offensive minded Michael Jordan would have realised impossible-to-reach numbers of points, both season and postseason, however, Chicago would have likely ended up with less than 6 championships! 'nuff said.

Hi dude, awesome video. I am from Bulgaria. Back in 90's here football(european football) is our thing... but everybody knew who is Michael Jordan. Even my grandmother knew who Michael Jordan was. Today my mother know who LeBron is....from some show on TLC. My point is back in 90's without internet in small ex-comunist country everybody knew MJ, i remember asking my mother buying me a red football t-shirt with the number 23 and my mother put the letters JORDAN on the back and BULLS on front with her sewing machine. The impact of Jordan 23 was huge even here... like everywhere in the world. The way i understand it, MJ made NBA popular world wide and thats all i need for the GOAT Because of MJ i love watching basketball and i am 100% sure i am not the only one

@@TheThaiTerror like to be the goat, everything u touch is gold. Shoes, finals, scoring titles, defensive teams, blocks steals, gold medals, this man did it all in 13 years (last two was Jordan having fun being himself he wasn’t thinking about going hard at that age but his game was still good) you got lebron in year 21 you got kd in year 16 some shit like that. Matter fact lebron leads scoring all time, he is undoubtedly the best player to play the game but he is not the best winner. Yes claim bill was the best winner ok he got 11 but he also lost on the final stage as well. Jordan is the best winner in my book y? Name someone else who helped his team 3 peat twice? Ok I believe bill did it at some point but Jordan’s did it when there was what 30 teams or lil less than that. Bill went against like 10 to 15 teams. lol Jordan never switched teams to win. Even Kobe almost 3 peated twice. He almost switched but that fell through. Can’t say none of these new noggas put on for the city cause they leave their city. I ain’t talking bout random trades I’m talking demanding out. Sitting out so they can get out. I got one Jordan jersey every body got 3 lebron jerseys 4 Durant jerseys. MJ was great but he wouldn’t have been goat had he not got one of the greatest coaches ever and he also had Scottie pippen. MJ never changed teams, coach and A sidekick once he started winning. Lebron never had a Pippen or a great coach in his first 8 years in the league but he did all he could with all he had. When your team couldn’t get you a good side kick and a good coach it makes a big difference.

That's not true. Jordan turned a provety franchise into a Playoff team and had the Bulls in the 89-ECF with D.Collins as head coach and no All-Star caliber teammates. Phil was a nobody before he took over a Conf.Final team expected to win. Pippen wasn't even an All-Star when the Bulls won their 1st ring. LeBron had Big Z, Varejao, Eric Snow, Boozer, B.Wallace, Jamison, Shaq, Mo Williams, etc, in his 1st 7 years in Cleveland. We must also remember Jordan played in an Eastern Conference with multiple GOAT level teams. When the 07-Cavs made the Finals C.Billups Pistons without B.Wallace and coach Brown were the top teams out East

Jordan shots 53% in the playoffs on game winning and game tying shots with less than 25 seconds to go. 50% in the finals with 2 championship winners. Lebron is 37% in the playoffs and unsurprisingly a whopping 0% (0-7) in the in finals. Lebron has never made such a shot in an elimination game, series clincher, or as previously stated, the finals. Jordan faced 50 win teams or better 70% of the time in the playoffs. He went 20-7 vs teams with 50-59 wins, and 7-2 vs those with 60+. He was so dominate that he never even faced a game 7 in the finals. Lebron faced 50 + win teams only 53% of the time, and is 10-9 vs 50-59 win teams, and 3-4 vs 60 + win teams. Lebron isn't even in the top 5, all time probably not the top 10.

@dougamundson6836 so does every star in the game. but no way he travels as obvious as Bron does. jordans travel was when he would do his spin move and drive or do his fade away and would lift his pivot foot early, while Bron will take 3, 4 or 5 steps after he pick up the ball and is not called for travel. and Bron does a offensive foul pretty much every time he drives to the basket. both guys and every other star get fouled and it's not called. its a part of the game. it happens in every sport

Nice list, but #1 should be LONGEVITY and DURABILITY. That’s what ended making him have a huge gap between him and Larry/Magic when it was being debated and he never turned back. Magic and Larry would be hobbled in many seasons and it ended up in playoff or finals losses. Magic in 1991 was not a guy in good shape as he was notably tired in 4th quarters by then. This remarkable quality matters most because you can have all the killer instinct in the world and it won’t mean Jack sh*t if you’re injured. That’s where his work with Tim Grover gets overlooked and if you look at him even in his Wizards years, he doesn’t favor an old injury and walks completely balanced. Outside of MJ’s 2nd season, he was basically injury free and didn’t load manage. What’s even more impressive about this is when you consider his athletic high flying playing style where he’s alway jumping and the fact that he’d play golf often. The golf alone would’ve ruined many with that combination
@jasonnelson6624
@jasonnelson6624 8 ай бұрын
Play golf often but also late night drinking and gambling. The issue with acknowledging his longevity and durability is it leave the door open for someone say like LeBron to take his "spot". Also Jordan did get some help in rule changes and teams weren't allowed to punish him for going into the paint. That was reserved for big bodies and contact was a guarantee. Some people are also just more durable regardless of how they workout or take care of there body. Probably some luck is involved. Its still impressive with or without hard contact.
@eddieG667

@@jasonnelson6624 he got help from rule changes and expansion teams being added. Otherwise, I don't think he reigns over a super team league of 3-4 stars unless his team went our and got 3-4 stars. He thrived when the league had so many slots that contenders went down to 1-2 all stars each. Hence, the term "duo" was being thrown around more when I never would hear that term in the 1980s. In terms of Lebron being added to that longevity quality, that's true, but there's no denying he didn't have the competitive fire of MJ

Bron is better. If Bron played in the 80s and 90s when neither zones nor handchecking was allowed he'd avg 50ppg and never lose a finals

@@andrewcook1246 1st: I disagree with u entirely.. but 2nd: hand checking was absolutely “legal” in the ‘80s & ‘90s. The NBA didn’t ban hand checking until the mid-2000s.

Just like Pippen said "You can never compare MJ to James". It is like comparing a "real" Bull to a real goat. You can call the other guy goat, donkey, chimp whatever, but we still call Michael Jordan the "Black Jesus" of basketball. That was God disguised as Michael Jordan. - Larry Bird Air Jordan still sounds better than Air Leflop.

He included Patrick Ewing here who were HOF but not able to beat the Chicago Bulls for the ECF of 90s resulting not to reach the NBA Finals vs the West Conf. He forgot Reggie Miller and Alonzo Mourning.

Jordan knows he got lucky, when Magic Johnson falsely got diagnosed with hiv, Jordan knows he wouldn't have six rings, that save Jordan's career, even though Jordan was nothing without Pippin, and Jordan only started winning as the Celtics started getting older and the Pistons, 6 and 0 the Celtics are against Jordan and the Bulls in the playoffs, Jordan moves, that he stole from other great NBA players before him, Kobe Bryant just made them better, but I guarantee they will take down my comment, cuz Jordan fans cannot handle the truth, Jordan could not win anything for the Wizards and let's not even talk about his baseball career😂😂😂😂😂😂

Guess what happened when Jordan came back to the Bulls? Another 3 peat! Stop the cap dude. 😂😂 You cannot even spell Pippen correctly! 🤡
