Nigerians have gone from tribalism, and more into nationalism since each successive generation post independence. As a Southern African observer it is inspiring. However, just like your old brass who prefer colonial era national anthems, Nigerias name is ultimately a colonial label(exononym)..from British journalist Flora Shaw the side chick of the British overseer Frederick Lugard. Nigeria is extremely important to world history, as the source of the world earliest iron working culture, the Nok, as well as where many plant we take for granted were first domesticated. So I believe future generations of Nigeria need to embody and show off this richness. Most place names of countries are not given (exonyms), rather they are endonyms created and used in the la guages of the natives, like Ile-Ife, or Igbo Ukwu, or Kano. Zimbabwe and Zambia were once known as Rhodesia. South Africans, Nigerians, Nigeriens ect I believe need to do this. You need to name yourselves.
