I used to walk the logs at Riverside Park way back. Loved hanging out there, swimming. That was when the train was still there behind Landsdowne Mall. Or just walking down Tranquille a road stoned out of my head and sneaking into the drive in lol. I lived in Oak Hills, sandpiper drive. Went to school for a few years at Westsyde Senior Secondary. Those were the days. My niece lives there and says it’s a hole now.

Loved living and working there for the 2015-2016 year! If you love Wild West movies, you'll love Kamloops! Tumbleweeds literally roll down the main drag on the regular. Lots of cowboy Stetson hats and leather cowboy boots strutting around that place. Freaky old wooden Wild West structures and the constant trains passing through(more than any location in the country!). Lots of great places to eat and drink and in Summer you ride the current of the Thompson River 20 minutes from one beach to another, then do it all over again all day! You have to be wary of mountain lions. They're common to the area. Hiking in the mountains, plains or hills near town is great fun, but straying beyond a comfortable closeness to town is ill advised and quite dangerous after dark. The BC Interior Desert has very lethal wildlife and conditions ALSO: Be extremely aware of grassy areas due to brown recluse spiders(very small, very fast) that bite and cause flesh eating disease, along with poisonous black widow spiders(it's not uncommon to find them in your apartment in Kamloops).

Those who are from Kamloops are very much majority Caucasian and most I've encountered have the traits above, arrogant, outdated views and opinions. I don't want to say that represents Canada as a whole because I'm from Toronto where we have exposure to everyone from everywhere where most see people as people where as here I feel as though people are very much so closed minded and in their own small bubble of media, friends and family

@@skyler-evz2034 also want to add that Kamloops is a desert, it's very cold in the winter, very hot in the summer. It takes time to get to places if you don't have your vehicle as the public transit isn't reliable. Tiring to walk unless you live downtown or Northshore as it's most hills and not as flat as those areas. Have to consider there's limited options for ethnic foods in groceries too, it's more American ingredients if you care for that. But like Jon says it's beautiful out here.

I live in kamloops and no it's not the best place to live lmfao. It's hard to find affordable accommodation, it is to crowded, it's full of alot more drug users and homeless ppl thanks to some mysterious bus that just rolls through and dumps them off , there isn't many night life options anymore also there are a few bars in town that we'll are not welcoming to anyone as much as they say they are welcoming the list go's on

Ya I have heard that too. My niece lives there and says it’s really dangerous downtown. I lived there in the 80’s as a teen and it was great. Was never scared to walk anywhere at night.
