All of the best qbs in the league have bad games all the time but they all get passes. Darnold has one bad game against a solid defense and oh my hes turning into a pumpkin. Give me a break, he will be fine. I believe in Darnold and hes going to bounce back for sure. Jets game was personal for him and coach KOC and they both were thinking too much and trying to hard for the big plays. This week we play the Lions and Darnold will have a great game. I cant wait for the Vikings to stomp all over the Lions. I love this team man, lets go!

Speaking just for me, my stress level is a lot lower with Darnold here.

Cousins had a really slow start. It was clear that he was still getting used to playing with a repaired ankle & he was still learning the Atlanta offence. That means that the Vikes with Cousins may have lost one of the five games. I know it is fashionable to diss Cousins, but fans need to remember just how good Cousins was for the Vikes over the last few years. In 2022 & 2023 (prior to the injury). The truth is that Cousins was one of the top-5 QBs in the league....and that was without a decent run game. In addition to watching all of Cousins' games since he joined the Vikes, I have watched all 5 Vikes games with Darnold, plus 4 of Cousins' games this year (missed the last one). Overall, I would say that Darnold is much more mobile & Darnold has a slightly stronger arm, but Cousins is still better making pre-snap & post-snap reads, and Cousins definitely is more accurate & throws with more 'touch' on the ball. So, yes, the Vikes would be worse...likely 4-1...but Cousins would have had fewer INTs & probably would be slightly more productive over all 17 games. Bottom line & the good news: While Darnold is less refined & less experienced than Cousins, the Vikes have a much better run game & much better defence than Cousins ever had with the Vikes, so there's no reason that the Vikes can't get into the playoffs & win at least two in the post-season with Darnold.

A quarter of a season won't wipe away years of bad play. If darnold gets about 12 good games this season and does well in playoffs ppl won't question him nearly as much

The knock on Cousins was that he never saw a check down that he didn't take. Although, Sam Darnold has been a God Send, as well as the Anti-Kirk. Maybe Sam can, in the future losely embrace his inner Cousins by dialing back a little on forcing deeper throws when they're covered(esp. to Jetts) and take what is given by checking it down to a wide open reciever. Also, Sam can't seem to play a full 4 quarters w/o at least one of those "WTF WAS HE THINKING" plays, for which he's become famous. If, Sam cleans up these parts of his game (especially if the Vikings continue to win) HE will be the Vikings QB of the future, and relegate JJ to the clipboard.

It's sad: Aaron Jones is our cow bell (can't get enough), but he can't be our bell cow (run him 30 times per game). Gotta figure out how to spring Ty Chandler for longer chunks. Maybe the Lions D line won't be so tough without Hutchinson.

@@danomite22 not complaining, my point is that I'm not mad at Sam when he played poorly. I was upset that KOC put him in those positions when we know his tendency. Championship mindset. Always look for and expect improvement.
