Well after the fact, but I agree with Jim Miller's votes. Yes, I always look at it as "What would the team do without 'player X'?". And, yes indeed, that there needs to be more recognition for non-QBs. If there had been such an award for the 2024 season, then IMHO it would have come down to Barkley or Chase.

Hi Andy. Just catching up on vids. Nice draft! Getting more of a pass rush from the Vikes' 5-techs would be nice. I do wonder if that could be accomplished by moving Harrison Phillips there, but getting a couple of young bucks to handle duties would be great as well.

Just catching up on vids now. IMHO, Florio is like a lot of politicians - too scared of the 'optics' & potential consequences to do the right thing. He's a weakling. Tirico already gave away his anti-Vikes/KOC bias when he called Vikings games. What a doofus. FWIW...and I think I said it yesterday....my pick for #2 COTY would have been Dan Quinn, although I must confess that I am biased because of the Commies nice run in the playoffs.

Seems like you are way over the cap with FA spending....did you check the expected value of each of these and add them up against our available? Estimate you are at 78M with only 58M avail unless you do some major cuts and restructuring,,,,? always enjoy your content though!

We are going to go 8-8 the next 3 years and might not even make the play offs if we let Sam go. I hope JJ is the next elite franchise QB who’s better than Sam but statistically speaking the chances of that are less than 30%. I’m surprised at some of you fellow Vikings fans. This hopeful optimism is going to evaporate like it always does 🤷🏻♂️

@@clarkthesharkk I am not quite a pessimistic as you sound, but I agree 100% that we just do not know how good McCarthy will be. We saw him in training camp, and just one freakin' pre-season game. While I was impressed with everything I saw, if I ignored how high of a draft pick McCarthy was & treated him like any other QB prospect, I would have been waiting to see more from him after his first preseason game. I would have reserved judgement until I saw whether or not McCarthy can replicate the good things we saw in 2 more pre-season games, and then when he started facing starters early in the early season. So, that will be my attitude this year & it's also why I really hope that KOC has a good plan for back-up QB.

I agree about Darnold, and I agree with Andy that Darnold can be a top-ten-ish QB if he goes to a team with a consistently good OL & run game, plus a couple of good weapons. (he doesn't need JJ-level, but he does need reliable route runners)

Now to be fair, Florio kept his word. He said on his Pro Football Talk show that whoever wins that SNF Game, he would vote for that coach to be Coach of the Year. So he kept his words even though I'm sure he prefers to vote for KOC.

Even just getting a 2nd would be awesome, as it would give Kwesi A-M an opportunity to draft 2 absolute studs for the trenches in the first two rounds, or even trade the Vikes' #1 for another 2nd and a 3rd, which could work out nicely too. (..however, realistically, I can't see most teams being willing to give up a 2nd for Darnold, in a tag-and-trade situation...)

I agree with you Andy draft Kyle Mccord because the only reason he left Ohio State was Ryan Daye said that the quarterback spot was not guaranteed but that goes for any quarterback nowadays.He went to Syracuse and did well so he is a servicable quarterback and KOC would know how to coach him .
