Yes! I would completely consider this vehicle. We have a 2020 CX-5 that I don't drive often given my wife and daughter, but when I do, I am taken with the refinement, content, luxury-feel and overall vibe. My car is a M240i Performance, so the Zoom Zoom piece for me for Mazda is not quite the same, but it is a well handling, quiet and nice riding car. This 'mash-up' of the CX-50 + the Toyota powertrain is very compelling. The short list for us was the Lexus NX and the Honda CR-V before the CX-50 Hybrid was born, but is certainly on the list now. We are at a stage where we will not be buying too many more cars, so this Mazda (and the others on the list) are top contenders.

Great video, Shari. Can you make a video where you compare the true cost of ownership for luxury SUVs over the first five years? For instance, I know that Genesis offers free maintenance and some dealership costs more than others for service. I'm sure Lexus would come out on top, but I'd love to see where others land. There's also fuel costs based on a 20k a year average. Hybrids would cost less than ICE vehicles. It can also become a new series of videos. Thought it would be interesting. Cheers!

Thank you! Toyota's 5th gen hybrid system is certainly better, but it is a very modest update over the 4th gen. Both are excellent. That being said, I'm sure Toyota will also upgrade the new RAV4 in other ways to make it drive better (more sound deadening, stiffer structure, etc.).

You do know you have to do comparison vid of this against Kia Sportage AWD sport version(gt?) hybrid, dont you? I like the Hyundai Nline hybrid better, even though that blind a-pillar in front of the mirror kind of gets to me, but I think Hyundai is to Toyota as Kia is to Mazda. Come on man you gotta do it!
