This is the safest list of games Ive ever seen. Why not go with interesting choices, like instead of revisiting Mario 64 again they can give love to a game that never gets enough love which is Super Mario Sunshine. Instead of remaking Ocarina of Time AGAIN they can go with the Oracle games. Instead of remaking Paper Mario 64 which is already highly respected they can pick Super Paper Mario, which like Sunshine doesnt get enough love or attention because its different. Other series like Donkey Kong and F-Zero dont need remakes because they desperately need a new game instead.

Personally, I’d love to see all the AlphaDream-developed “Mario & Luigi” RPG games get the All-Stars treatment. In other words, I’d love to see them remade in the new “Brothership” art style, and under the same new developer as “Brothership.” Acquire, to be exact. Of course, the gameplay mechanics in the DS and 3DS entries will need to be reworked for the Nintendo Switch 2.

If they do a remake of SM64, then it should be the artstyle of odyssey, bowser’s fury, and the next 3d Mario. If it’s a remaster, then it should be the box art graphics of the original 64 game. Whatever it is, it should add Waluigi, birdo, and toadette but also new levels being scrapped ones from 64/64ds and planned levels for 64dd (disk drive) and the sequel for Mario 64. And also another peach’s castle for the post game or daisy’s castle

Mario 64 could do with a ground up remake, due to terrible controls, even worse camera and outdated visuals. Donkey Kong 64 could do with a remake to polish it up a bit and work out the bloated mess of collectibles. Minigames need abolishing too. Ocarina of Time doesn’t need a remake but I would love one anyway. Some unlikely ones but I’d like them nonetheless, Space Station Silicon Valley, Mischief Makers, Mystical Ninja starring Geomon.

An Earthbound remake has always been an intriguing idea for me. And I'm afraid it would be kind of awkward. The original really relied on using colorful language to let the player's imagination fill in the blanks. "The Mad Duck made something spin!" "Ness took 17 damage." I don't know what the Mad Duck made spin. And that's exactly the way it should be. To maintain this, a remake would need to retain a very static visual design. Which begs the question "why remake it?" The amount of improvement I can see for the game is kind of limited. Mostly better menu interface. Really, I just want to see Mother 3 finally get localized. The game was both hilarious, and somehow manages to take the top 2 spots for most tragic deaths I've seen in any video game.

The donkey Kong country games are the most overrated games may be in the history of Nintendo. They had all the potential in the world to be fun games except they made them impossible hard so what’s the point of even playing a game that you can’t possibly beat? It’s like ghosts and goblins. Great game but what’s the point? Can’t get past much further than the first level. So I’ll never buy another one.

As much as I loved my 3DS, I low key resented Nintendo for a while for remaking home console games/putting home console sequels on the handhelds. I’ve tried playing through ocarina of time but it’s too clunky for me. I’ve been waiting years for a remake, and have so far refused to get it on 3DS. Also would have loved the toon link sequels to be on home consoles as much as I loved those games. We need fully fleshed out remakes for the switch 2 imo.

Donkey Kong 64 is definitely a must remake to happen, even if it means they remove the Rareware coin and the "Jetpac" video game in them since the DK universe is Nintendo property (and before anyone says anything about King K. Rool, he is officially a Nintendo character and not a Microsoft character, he is even trademarked by Nintendo and not by Microsoft). Another game that would make a great addition would be Kid Icarus: Uprising.

I disagree with your take on Super Mario 3D World… in fact it should be even higher. I genuinely believe clear pipes are the coolest feature Nintendo has ever added. Pipes, historically in Mario, have been nothing more than load times disguised as gameplay. 3D World’s clear pipes not only let you see what’s coming, allowing you to send in a few fire balls to take out enemies, but also present new gameplay challenges because you can control your character while using them. The clear pipes are simply a wonderful revelation and I would place the game higher because of that
