What sets Alton Towers apart from many other Theme Parks you find across the world, is the fact that every single themed area and roller coaster has a storyline and lore behind it, making the entire park and epic story as you progress through it. What makes it even better is the fact that the majority of these stories are horror themed.

A piece of the original Incredible Hulk coaster in Islands of Adventure is displayed over the Entrance to the ride since they redid the ride with new track as if Hulk himself broke it which I thought was cool. Yes the ride is technically the same as they didn't make any modifications to the track layout but they did completely remove the old track and replace it with an exact copy of new beams/rails etc. I thought it was cool they incorporated some of the old track as part of the entrance to the ride. I was surprised it wasn't mentioned.

It's certain people will never see the Bat's original footers ever again(unless the queue of its soon-replacement ride passes by the footers). There's a fair bit of that in the UK- for example, the entrance to the accomodation at the Thorpe Park resort has a load of old signage that used to be around the park, including old logos, signs, and bits and bobs that they have left over form things. On a similar note, I recently learned that the original mascots of Thorpe Park are still on-site, in the old farm area (no longer accessible to the public). Kinda cool that remnants of the old family-friendly version of the park, before it turned into a thrill-seekers destination, are still there.

I'm thinking about how the videos theme isn't remnants in a broad sense, but remnants that no longer serve as a permanent theme park attraction beyond decoration or only as season event features, but that's not as a catchy title. Thus things like reused ride stations and footers (a prominent example being the reused Big Bad Wolf footers for Verbolten) are excluded from the list

B&R: The Chiller; given how LIM is better understood now; could it work if something similar were to be built now? 3. Regarding Rolling Thunder; I'm surprised that it didn't get the Iron Horse treatment. edit: As far as Phantom's Revenge goes, the track in the station and the lift hill is Arrow track (Steel Phantom) and the rest of the ride is DH Morgan track. Also, the station and queue line for B&R: The Chiller was used for a Fright Fest maze one year. As for roller coaster nicknames, the ones I can think of off the top of my head are: Spinebuster (Mighty Canadian Minebuster at Canada's Wonderland); Hang & Bangs (any Vekoma SLC); Anacon-DON'T (Anaconda at King's Dominion).

Oddly enough Rolling Thunder was my favorite. Looking back I really can't imagine why, but I loved racing my friends on the other track. Scream machine was my first coaster with an inversion. When I finally worked up the nerve to go on Batman and Robin, it was already announced that it was the final year. I always thought it was because that first drop exceeded 5 Gs and new laws made it out of specs.

@@RaindropsBleeding my favorite had to be Medusa. I honestly don't know why but I remember getting so excited to get in that line multiple times. When they changed it to Bizzaro it didn't feel the same. The one I hated most & still do to this day is Nitro. I've been on it twice. It's the safety bar. Just one thing over your crotch & that's it. I'm a thin person & I remember having the fear that I'd slide right out of that thing and I almost did.

I rode both Rolling Thunder and GASM both on their 'final rides' days. We got to ride Rolling Thunder 13 times in a row before closing [this was when I was a kid, not due to it closing down] cause nobody was lining up, and the operator kept asking 'I can probably fit 1 more in, y'all wanna go?'. My friend threw up 3 times on the way back to the car that night hahahah GASM was also my first looping roller coaster; my mom had me take my socks off and stuff them in my shoes to give me that extra inch I needed hahaha!!!

Kennywood until recently was a family owned park. Why they were more creative than the major parks in their design as they tended to reuse parts if possible to cut cost. Kennywood a few years ago was purchased by a smaller promotions company named Parques Reunidos in 2007.

I used to go to Dorney Park all the time as a kid and even had season passes for a few years in the early 2000’s. The rough and sort of rickety feeling of the ride was part of the fun for me personally. It gave Hercules its “character.” Thanks for the video, it brought up a some fond memories.

Fond memories of Hercules at Dorney Park. Yes, it was rough but the initial trip out of the station and then sweeping out over the lake was stunning. I remember riding the Corkscrew back in 1990 when we went to Alton Towers on a school trip. The queue time was around 90 minutes back then but was well worth the wait. Another ride which I rode & has also now been removed was Thunder Looper. I remember it really cranking my neck on the return backwards loop but was still nevertheless such a thrill to ride back then.

I took my son to Silver Dollar City when he was six years old. I was so excited for him to ride Buzzsaw Falls because I thought he'd be surprised when the water ride turned into a roller coaster. My wife and I had rode it in years past. I couldn't remember the name at the time. I just remembered the location in the park; so, Powder Keg meant nothing to me. We were both very surprised when we discovered there was no more water and were accelerated down the track at an excessive starting speed! It was his first roller coaster experience. I felt so bad. I didn't want to scare him from riding coasters. I'm glad to finally learn the story behind why it was tore down. It's a fun memory we have of Silver Dollar City and my son actually enjoys coasters to this day despite his initial shock.

There are two different roller coaster remnants at Busch Gardens Williamsburg. The first is on Verbolten. The last drop on the ride uses the same footers as the Big Bad Wolf that was there before Verbolten. The second is the station for Drachen Fire. If you ride the train from Fiesta Italia to New French behind Des Festhaus in Oktoberfest you will see the old station for Drachen Fire. They now use it for a haunted house during the Hallow-Scream event.
