I'm 54 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, and we are finding it impossible to replace them. We can get by, but can't seem to get ahead. My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis, 30 years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for...

Amazing video, A friend of mine referred me to a financial adviser sometime ago and we got talking about investment and money. I started investing with $120k and in the first 2 months , my portfolio was reading $274,800. Crazy right!, I decided to reinvest my profit and gets more interesting. For over a year we have been working together making consistent profit just bought my second home 2 weeks ago and care for my family...

Hello Yatin Thaggarse. Yes, I remember. We had interacted before on some Genius queries. Currently, there is no automated SWP feature on our platform. In terms of alternatives, maybe an SWP can be setup from the AMC website itself. I have not tried it myself

@ETMONEY2 жыл бұрын
Lots of places. You can purchase using mutual funds (Gilt category), use a Retail Direct Gilt account (we have a video on that), trading platforms offer this facility (i.e. secondary transactions), think even banks allow it etc.
@satyam-evajayate4382 жыл бұрын
In current scenario GILT mutual funds are not advisable, as returns are inversely proportional to interest rates.

Can arbitrage fund SWP be used for efficient tax adjusted returns
@ETMONEY2 жыл бұрын
Sure. Arbitrage funds generally are like a parking lot .. and investors use it tactfully to move in and out of investments. I generally see used for tactical deployment and not long-term investment as the returns offered are in the 5-7% range. But yes, you do have a point.

Need your expert guidance. I retired couple of months back. Filled up exit form of NPS and asked for ANNUITY for 100% of my corpus. But NPS has only utilized 40% of corpus for payment of Annuity. I have been told by NPS that corpus more than 40% can't be utilised for ANNUITY. I sincerely doubt this position
@ETMONEY2 жыл бұрын
Not sure if there are any differential rules for private v central govt v state govt employees etc. but from what we have read you to apply atleast 40% in purchase of annuity. So technically you can have 100% of your NPS corpus into an annuity

This is wrong information, Interest rates keeps on changing
@randotuber2 жыл бұрын
@@ETMONEY I think what he is saying is that once you invest in SCSS, that particular investment is locked at the prevailing rate for the full duration of the deposit, i.e. 5 years. While the government may increase or decrease rates on a quarterly basis, the locked-in deposit would be freezed at the initially contracted interest rate.

Mr. Shankar RBI flexible interest bond is also a good option for retirees. I think this is a better option as the interest rate is flexible and with rising interest rate it will benefit the investor.

Dear ET Money Team, I would like to more understand about the stock + ETF SIP / Lumpsum through ET money Genius and how the rebalancing works . Does rebalancing means selling one stock and adding new stock to the portfolio also in that case it will be considered as short term capital gain right , even if it rebalances once in every month we need to keep track of this short term capital gain correct ? Is it possible to make a separate video about this approach and differentiate hoe rebalancing works in SIP / Lumpsum Model . In case of mutual fund fund house rebalances their portfolio and update the NAV and from investor perspective it will not be considered as redemption and we do need to worry about tracking the gains unless we redeem the mutual fund units wantedly . Appreciate if this can be clarified . I would like to understand the concepts fully before start investing in to this , But i really like the idea and approach . Thanks
@ETMONEY2 жыл бұрын
Dear Rajasekar V - we've answered large parts of this question (and dozens of more questions) in our Genius video. Appreciate if you can access that pls (link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hpmnYqmjed12haM) Specific to your Qs: 1. We already have a conceptual video on rebalancing. Pls watch it at kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z5WceGqKq81sqbM 2. Yes, short term or long term capital gain will be applicable when rebalancing happens. Ofcourse, tax is only paid on gains made and if losses are booked, then one can use it for setting-off gains. This would have been a problem for our model 4 years back when STCG was 15% and LTCG was 0% .. but with a 15%/10% splitting, this is not much of a concern. This means, if Genius books profits in a way that the gains are over 5% than what an investor would have generally made, then we are a good use case for the investing services. As our data shows on the app .. the performance of Genius is a lot higher 3. Oh, I don't think tracking will be a problem. In the case of mutual funds, the capital gains statement will give you this information in a second. And in case of stocks, it is the same case (this stocks part might depend on the trading account you use; I use zerodha and I was able to download the capital gain statement from console.zerodha.com) Hope this helps. Thanks for your appreciation of Genius. Hope you like it
