The top 10 highest earners in snooker by their prize money winnings in tournaments.
In the upcoming years Trump, Robertson and Selby are the promising players to hold the spots of top 6 sharing with Ronnie, Higgins and Hendry.

But the phrase "bums on seats" wasn't invented for nothing! Snooker is a sport but it's also an entertainment industry. I am afraid if it's to survive, then there is not much room for the Peter Ebdons of the world. No disrespect....it's just the way it is.

What strikes me the most is how much Snooker has grown over the last thirty years. In 1990, the tenth player was just over $500K. In 2020, the tenth player is making $3.8M.

Most of the guys who were playing in the 80's are the richest players. While the modern game has a lot more money in it. The game during Davis's and Hendry's prime had a lot more opportunity to make money outside of the game.

Seems odd that players who have retired stay on this list, im guessing thats why they appear in black but they stay on the list till they are overtaken. Though Steve Davis retired in 2016 yet appears in black by 2015. This also obviously only takes prize money into account and not anything else. I think it's total prize money over their time in snooker with Ronnie having the most at 37 titles which includes 6 world championships etc / so with Stephen Hendry on 36 titles - 7 world championships. Of course prize money goes up so as Ronnie's titles come mainly after Stephen's, but I also think Ronnie has been in much much more quarters & semi's then anyone else, these still earn cash ?
