Anyone else realised how good Stephen Hendry is as an interviewer? He's chilled and asks the questions very naturally. It's a different side to him that I think we all like. Even when he's playing a frame during an interview, he asks the right questions at the right time. Bravo

Players are also much more relaxed around him because it’s Stephen. A legend of their sport so they have a lot of respect towards him and know that he’s not a nobody basically. And defo right.. never knew Stephen was actually quite nice and fun to listen to. Always thought him and Steve Davis would be boring but I ended up liking them 2 the most.

We only really know Stephen as a fierce competitor who never gave anything away. Years of dominance made him seem very arrogant to us all but now he’s opened up and lightened up he’s shown his true self. A truly decent man and the finest pundit / commentator snooker has ever had. He’s also very funny and easy to like

8:46 THIS is why he is calm and relatively sane now. He has trained himself to not get worked up about snooker, to not listen to the negtive thoughts in his head when he plays. If he doesn’t have quite the edge he used to, I’d rather he be happy. (He talks a lot about this in “Running.” It’s not well-edited but it’s fascinating.)

the accolade of "being the greatest" can only be given to someone by others ( others like rivals who are or were also at the very top), not by oneself. claiming oneself to be the greatest has no actual merits. otherwise i could say that i am greatest snooker player ever and youd just have to accept it. the problem is to find others that strenghten my claim. even if ronnie had one more WC he still would say stephen is the greatest, because he cannot nominate himself.

Equal amount of respect for both players!👏🏽 They have "both" done so much for the game of snooker & given us all so many memories over the years. A lot of people dont get Ronnie but having gone through mental health struggles myself i can relate therefore i understand. He is really a great guy just largely misunderstood. His running has helped with this in recent years just as cycling had helped me. If theres anybody out there really struggling with mental health then ide suggest you start excersise. Start off slow and build your way up. In running you get a thing called "runners high" the same for cycling. Its a feeling of great calm and peace after your workout. Not only that but your regulating all sorts of hormones in your body when you get fit. It just makes you a much more placid happier healthier person with a much better life expectancy Ciao👋🏼🤓👋🏼
@TheJayLordx Жыл бұрын
When I was badly depressed in my teens and early twenties doctors always asked me if I exercised and I used to wonder what the hell they were asking me that for. It's only since I made the effort to try I realised the benefit. You genuinely feel better about yourself and more at peace with everything somehow. I try to swim and hike as much as I can now, it's better than any antidepressant out there. Anyone struggling I really recommend it, it might be hard to drag yourself out to do it but the feeling during and afterwards is so therapeutic and worth it 🤘
@taff6987 Жыл бұрын
@@TheJayLordx exactly! The doctors are encouraged to put people on medication 💊 as they're pushed by big pharma when really our bodies can heal themselves. During exercise your body released dopamine which is the feel good chemical that is released when taking certain "party" drugs. It releases and regulates all sorts of endorphins and hormones around the body. It is important to remember that you can have too much of a good thing and some people end up over training. Everything in life is about balance. As one gets older you figure this out. I have fallen off the wagon a bit myself. I fell very ill during covid in 2021 and the last two years has been hell. Its time I started to look after myself with a little more intent. It's never easy to drag oneself out of that dark place but once u do things drastically change for the better. Hope your doing well.👍🏼
