It's been a ridiculously awesome year for actresses in Horror. Demi Moore, Naomi Scott, Willa Fitzgerald...their performances transcend the stories themselves. Like Smile 2 let me down in the third act, but Naomi was firing on all cylinders.

It saves so much time. I grew up in a Funeral Parlor, I learned very young that it's not just old people and drunk drivers that die, the Grim Reaper is open to pretty much anyone. So my siblings and I were all funny about time and how we spend it. It is the ONE commodity we will NEVER get back. Unless someone actually develops a San Junipero, of course. (Black Mirror reference.) PS: We were the coolest kids in school, we had REAL dead bodies in our dungeon. ha ha

Horror flicks are fuel for my soul. Milk & Serial rocks. It got hardcore recommendations from Horror youtubers and it delivers the scares. That's the girl from the Scream, series. I watched "It's What's Inside" on Netflix. It's pretty engaging, but wraps itself a little too fast for me towards the end. It should have been a little longer and lingered more on the "Switches" plot. Infested was alright. I bit too dramatic for me, but I did enjoy the fast pace. Just didn't care for all the crying. It felt a little over the top. I really enjoyed Exhuma. Great recommendation. Thanx for the heads up.

If Alycia Debnam-Carey is in "It's What's Inside" it's gonna be sure watch for me. That girl is freaking gorgeous. Also I've never heard of "Sleep" so thanks for that, will most likely check it out in couple of days. Still didn't get to see Lowlifes but I've heard good things about it. Apparently it's kinda slow burn at first but then becomes really good if you kinda endure first half. Oh and there's "Azrael", it starts gorgeous and talented Samara Weaving, it's a movie based on some biblical apocalypse (Rapture I think) where everyone lost the ability to speak, and she's offered as sacrifice to some demonic entity which chases her the entire movie and there's no dialogue in the movie. For some reason that seems to be the latest trend in our Hollyweird lately, the no dialogue movies.

I want to address those who have not seen It’s What’s Inside, or maybe like me you started it and then gave up. I started watching this movie and hated it. The people were obnoxious and annoying so I shut it off. Then I started hearing good things so I tried again and I got further into it but I stopped because it felt like they literally expected us to memorize 8 peoples names AND faces within 20 minutes and I was like….no. THEN, I got pissed at the movies assumption’s on what kind of time I had so….I watched it again. But THIS time I paid attention to everyone’s names and faces and interwoven current and pay relationships and literally memorized it all. Guess what. Great movie. Loved it. Thought about it for days after. Definitely watch it. Also, great list!!

I only watched 2 from this list. The Odity which I liked. It felt like a good story from The Creepshow movie/show.And other one is Strange Darling which I didn't like because of too much plot armor for the main character.I mean I get what they were trying to go for but maybe I'm not in the target audience. Some other horror movies I've seen and apreciated (some more or less the other) are:Abigail (3.5/5), Salem's Lot (2024)(3/5),The Substance (2024)(4,5/5),Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (2024)(3/5),Rosemary's Baby (1968)(4,5/5),Alien Romulus (2024)(3,5/5),Perfect Blue (1997)(4,5/5).

i'm curious why nobody mentions STRANGE DARLING'S subtext, which is pretty gross. [spoiler alert] it's subtext-- and the whole story is based around consent, and circles around to it several times-- is that women shouldn't be believed when they say they've been r^ped. not only does it come up in monologues, but the entire structure is about taking the audience's assumptions and using it against it. and it's consistent from start to finish. yes, it's an incredibly slick, beautifully made candy confection, but what's underneath? disgusting. i've seen the movie 3 times, hoping i was wrong, but every time i viewed it, it only became more clear, this was exactly want the movie had to say.
