I really love how you always end up printing your photos in the end and analyze them. To me this is always the best end result. Don't be mad if I do the same on my channel later too. 🙏

Hi! Great shots, the one you preferred is amazing, looks somewhat surrealistic! I prefer the colors on the prints, more saturated, hotter colors, has more to do with the scene/action, I think. Congrats! But the one that caught my eyes is the one at 1:34, found its contrast and shines incredible! Those Rolleinars are very nice. Should you can, try the number 2, it's not as a close up as the 3, may give you room to work. All the best!

My favourite street/reportage stuff raises questions. These do that - such good energy. Judging by some of the comments here they’re also provocative and reveal attitudes of viewers. A sign you’re doing it right. My Rolinar 1 was cheap (it had fungus removed and is pretty scratched-up) I haven’t noticed any issue with quality though. I have used it indoors or with a hood to reduce flares and stuff. I love using it and love the results. Hopefully yours is ok even with the chip. If you find you do need a hood I recommend getting a proper ‘bay 1’ type (rather than a screw-on type) so you can still whip off attachments quickly without removing the hood. ✌🏽
@ribsy3 ай бұрын
Yea the chip seems to not make any different at all so far. Maybe under certain lighting angles it might - we’ll see!

Graet pictures, video and prints! I love your channel! When I was a student of photography we were saving on paper by making strips. Let’s say cut one sheet by three and that gives you 3 tests, so write down every setting and make your choice for the final print settings. I’m not sure if this helps, but I love your passion about all aspects of photography! Thank you for the content!

Didn't know Rolleinars fit a Yashica. Good to know. I sold a set many years ago when i sold my Rolleiflex. Wish i had both now.... But, yes, they do diminish image quality, but not so much that it's 'significant' for a non-technical use. Richard Avedon used them-that's all the validation i needed. Looks like you're getting great results, too. I kinda wanted a Yashica Mat after i sold the Rolleiflex, as i didn't want to have that much money invested in a TLR, but i got caught up in all the internet chatter about 'needing' to have one that was overhauled by a certain ex-Yashica technician. And with that cost, it just became a camera that was a bit further away from being the bargain i kinda wanted at the time.

I noticed absolutely nothing in terms of degraded image. it’s gotta be negligible
@jputnick3 ай бұрын
How do you compesate for parallax or since using a pair does it matter?
@ribsy3 ай бұрын
The focusing lens has parallax correction built into it. So what you see in the viewfinder has already been corrected. No compensation needed!

Hello fellow TLR users that want macro on the cheap! I have found buying the 3d printed bay adapters and then buying +1 +2 and +3 aliexpress 37mm filters and stacking or using one to be an excellent cost effective way to pack a 6x6 with a face just remember you gotta buy em in pairs! I have shot a few portfolio pieces with em and you'd never tell they were from aliexpress

I thought it was interesting how you talked about the photo that was "dark" since that's how it was early in the morning and of Black bodies -- I was watching this video with Carrie Mae Weems yesterday kzbin.info/www/bejne/p6OVZ4aEoNV2gcUsi=d7e2qEdxvxTHSeS5&t=382 and she talks about when Roy DeCarava showed his photos to curators and one of the criticisms were that they were too dark, primarily because of the centering of whiteness in the photography world then. Nice work, thanks for sharing.

That’s crazy that a celebratory event leads to shooting. Shows the sespool that is NY and the animals that live there. Proud to had been able to move away. I hope the event charges to clean up the mess from the motor oil to clean after. Your images are amazing, the narrative is great glad you kept honest to what you shot and what the event participants are.
