I’m not even a videogame fan but I found the first season of Fallout to be very well done. Walton Goggins needs to buy another hat to make room for more feathers.

I'm pleased that you mentioned The War of the Worlds show. I thought it was amazing. It was close to the book and impressive in it's scale. It involves the audience in a way I've never experienced before. I'm currently discoving your channel and enjoying it, very close to my own views. Thanks for your efforts!

It’s been a good year for sci fi. Dune, Silo, Fallout, 3 Body Problem and more. I did see Nosferatu yesterday which was really good. Highly recommended. And I’ve been catching up on books that I’ve missed in the past. Starting with the Expanse before moving to Iain Banks.

It’s been a pretty decent year for sci fi! Dune part 2 was a highlight for me too. I also enjoy Peter F Hamilton’s books, amazingly detailed world building, I’m looking forward to reading Exodus!

Delighted to discover “Blake’s 7” getting a mention. I too was excited by the Blu-Ray collection, which I recently finished revisiting. I’m actually currently reading the “Blake’s 7 Production Diary Series A” from Cult Edge, which is well worth a look if you haven’t already. Your own book was largely inspired by the fabulous Servalan?! 😱🤗😍 What an astonishingly fabulous character, and an iconic spaceship design.

Scavenger’s Reign is the best series of 2024 (tied with Blue Eye Samurai). I’ve never seen a planet designed to kill you and simultaneously have a calming atmosphere of peace.

Great list, as always! My favorite sci-fi of the year would be 3 Body Problem. Book 1 was ok with flat characters and way too many ideas but the subsequent books were mind blowing.

Thanks for this! Looking forward to picking some of these up, the Dune movies for one thing are still in my to-watch list. As for my SciFi year, I finally got around reading MA Foster's "Transformer" series as well as re-reading "Waves", they rank among the 80's very best IMO. On to 2025!

Top for me was the gifts Santa brought. The original FREEDOM OVA series, an amazing book by publisher VICTIONARY called FUTURIA Art of the Sci-Fi Age, the re-release of long out of print Timecrimes from visionary director Nacho Vigalondo, and the GITS The Human Algorithm manga. Santa knows his Sci-Fi

I didn't know Blake, was it ever broadcast to France ? (that's where I'm from). Visuals recall me of the OG Battlestar Galactica

For me, the high point was reading "The Last Cuentista" by Donna Barba Higuera, which came out of nowhere to become the best book that I read this year. It wasn't just that it was an interesting and unique perspective on the rise of authoritarianism in governments and how they can only succeed by erasing what makes people creative and unique as individuals, but that the way the story is written has a lot of personality, spunk, and heart. The protagonist is going to remain one of my favorite sci fi characters for a lot of years. This was the first time that I finished a book and immediately ran down the stairs to post a comment thanking the BookTuber who recommended it. Hopefully, it won't be the last. :)

Every year is a good year for Science Fiction. 😃 This year Dune part two was my favourite movie, by far. I saw Fallout and enjoyed it a lot. I need to play the games, as i missed so many Easter eggs. Main effort for me has been on listening to the Iain M. Banks books, which i finished this year and it was bloody brilliant. I'm also re-reading Dan Abnett's Gaunts Ghosts series. This is my third read through and i'm having a blast. I also picked up a stunning piece of original art for my Millennium Falcon collection. Not much in the way of games. I've just started playing Barman: Arkham Asylum, which is showing a lot of promise. I also have The Culture: Drawings book. Wasn't there also a second volume promised for "Notes from the Culture"?

So you were intrigued by Servalans complexity. Yeah, right. No fooling me, Darrel. Seven of Nine, compelling. That’s a way to describe her, l guess. Sorry Darrel, just teasing you a little.

Good video with the great bonus of a few things I'd missed. Agree that Voyager is Epic Star Trek: the wide open universe of the original, but with good effects and decent acting. Villeneuve's Dune 2, with their new take on Chani they've have literally lost the plot for Messiah. Nope. Have a good New Year and keep writing those hits Kid.

Thanks for the tip about The Culture: The Drawings, ordered right away. Love the Culture, the novels and the late Banks.

"I didn't play the game" - Well, to be fair, the game hasn't even been made yet. So no one has played it yet. In our timeline anyway.

Dislike for the ending, Culture series is crappy. Gone through the first 4 books and only palyer of games has an interesting and memorable story. The rest are generic sci-fi. I'm sorry but after 3 duds and a good (not great) I can't be bothered to waste any more time on it. Maybe they pick up in the last 4 books but I'll never know cause nobody would double down on such an awful streak

Wonderful stuff. TY. Let's see; Dune Prophecy I loved - very Duney, Fallout was good fun, and I'm currently catching up with Dr. Stone - GOOO! Science!! 🚀🛸🪐🌀
