Exactly- People act like this is come kinda mind blowing easter egg, it's not. It's the player being given a chance to leer at, sexually harass, and/or *technically* sexually assault a woman, with the game over being the same as if you pimp slapped Pendleton. Bethesda fanboys have a lot of rape enthusiasts in their ranks, so I can see why the game wouldn't dare give them a special message saying it's wrong, but why the hell are channels like this singing it's praises? If this was an Ubisoft or Crapcom game, it'd be topping every list video game rape qualifies for. Just because in-game dialogue bends over backwards to point you that way.

Username What Username? I can confirm that the op is right. just got through the game and on the dlc atm, and the first thing I tried when I could move was jumping on someone's head out of morbid curiosity. if you jump on a friendly, and don't fall off instantly, the game registers it as an attack and you get a game over screen. you just have to find a place to jump on them, like a table, at the beginning, but it's easy after you unlock double jump. also for throwing things, you have to throw 3 or more items at them in a short timespan to get the game over. the game registers both these, and jumps as light attacks, so it takes a few to get through the no no zone. on a different note, I wish I played these games so much earlier than I did. I just got the pc bundle that has 1 (definitive), 2, and death of the outsider for only 20 bucks. so far, 1 has been a great experience to totally screw around in and have fun! edit: also, I noticed after writing this that I had dishonored 1 on the 360 for some time, and somehow I just left it there for years. In that issue, Xavier had a special suit that channeled his telepathy in such a way as to allow him to walk for a while. His own legs are the only inanimate object he's ever moved with his mind.

Way of the samurai 4 (and I'm sure the rest of the series) has a ton of endings. You arrive at a harbor that's under attack by rebels, and you can decide to help them, or fight them off, or fight both sides. Or you can instantly surrender and have the rebels put you on a train track (which you can survive). Or better yet, instantly go right back to the boat that brought you here and leave the town, which also ends the game. Or bypass the fight, seek a matress to sleep and then sleep over the entire game, without having ever met any character or being involved into the plot. The game has a bit of a groundhog day feel.
@TheRogueX7 жыл бұрын
Leaving via the boat was the only viable way to "complete" the first Way of the Samurai and save your collected weapons once the game's story started to go south (ie, once you dun fukt up), because pretty much every other path from that point on was either YOU DIE or super hard.

Far Cry 4's secret ending is the kind of thing I always wanted in games as a kid. The whole idea that you can choose to join the bad guy, for starters, but more than that where you are presented with a path that would take you away from the story. You're basically able to skip the *entire game* just by being patient like you were asked... and it kinda turns out alright from what I've seen, although I'm sure you'll be side-by-side with a tyrant. Yet to play FC4, so I don't know. I should pick that up next. Been trying to figure out what I want to play on PS3.

Final Fantasy 8 have a few special Game Overs too. 1. At the trial at cloisters sidequest where you go to fight Odin, if you reach him you'll fight him and he'll let you wail on him until his HP is depleted without hitting you back. The catch? The whole event is timed. (from the minute you enter the dungeon to the minute you defeated him) and if you reach him but run out of time, he'll one shot you with his special attack, Zantesuken, and it'll say "Game Over" without going to the game over screen. 2. When you excape that prison on disk 2 and you have to crawl across a ledge(or was it a rope?) and it'll trigger a pseudo cut scene while doing so. The catch? You still have to press the directional button or else you'll miss your chance to enter (or was it leave) the prison. 3. If you didn't leave the military base in time before the missle hit it. That's all I can think of.

I liked how, in Chrono Trigger, there are two extended game overs. In most scenarios, if all your characters HPs dropped to 0, the battle UI just wipes away and it plays sad music. However, there are two bosses who, if you die to them, actually causes the game to play a cutscene for your game over. For those of you who don't know, Chrono Trigger was a JRPG which heavily featured time travel. The first game over in question was to the wizard Magus during the Middle Ages. He was attempting to create a monster known as Lavos. Due to your party doing a bit of time-traveling and winding up in the post-apocalyptic future, they learn that Lavos is the reason their once-verdant world becomes a barren wasteland. Naturally, your party decides to go straight to the source and stop Magus from creating Lavos in the first place. If you lose to Magus, though, he turns his back on your unconscious bodies and resumes creating Lavos, as planned. The second game over occurs at pretty much any time should you chose to attack Lavos directly during the Apocalypse era. After he kills you, the game actually goes into a pretty long cutscene that shows the apocalypse in all its horror. The game zooms out to orbital view of your world, which turns gray. This scene is then accompanied by the caption, "But the future refused to change."

In my opinion the best Game Over-like scene is in Wing Commander 3: Heart of the Tiger, where you can Go on a Game Over-path you cannot win, but still do multiple Missions in it where you Defend your Home in a losing battle.

I would have gone with one of the other 2 secret endings to ME2. Those actually take some work to achieve. Getting everyone killed on the suicide mission takes planning, and the Reapers Arrive ending to the Arrival dlc takes patience. There's also the 4th ending they added to ME3 where the Reapers destroy all life in the galaxy.

In Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door there are two pretty interesting game over scenarios. 1st there is a section of the game in which you are given the opportunity to read a ghost's diary and the ghost kills you if you do. 2nd, At the very end of the game, the last boss gives you an opportunity to join them which will result in a game over if you say yes.

Steamy Hot Djent to the Face Every single death or fake death screen led to Time Paradox so it’s not a hidden game over. Especially since it’s the third game and the first two take place in 2005 and 2007 respectively. Actually, I think the second takes place in 2014. I don’t remember. It’s a matter of you are pretty much forced to do it such and such way to a tee, since it’s a prequel.

Super paper Mario had some really great game overs. All you had to do was just deny any quest that was given to you (example: "Put on your helmet?" "No" "You will die in the vaccum of space without it, put it on." "NOO" *GAME OVER*)

i discovered the Far Cry 4 ending on my own. when i first got Far Cry 4 and started playing it, i did exactly what he told me to do. i sat and waited. i didn't actually expect anything to happen, so right about the time i picked up the controller and was about to get up, he comes back and i get the ending. that was my first experience with Far Cry 4. my mind was literally blown. sometimes Ubisoft has a stroke of pure genius, but it's not often.......

Jules, I'm surprised you didn't put the Night Trap game over where if you don't press Start on the intro screen the SCAT Team Leader disconnects your control because he doesn't think you're up to the challenge and rolls credits. I thought that was a classic and pretty creative

In Dishonored, if you jump onto someone's head, you damage them. You get the same Game Over if you attack any friendly story-important NPC. It has nothing to do with climbing into the bath with Callisto.
@KravenErgeist7 жыл бұрын
The Dishonored one also happens whenever you attack any of your allies in your home base, so the game's basically telling you that jumping into the bath with Callista is considered an attack. Good on you, Bethesda.

Best Game Over Screen ever... Dying in the tutorial level of Eternal Darkness. After me and my friend beat that game 3 times to get the true ending, we wanted to see of his little sister would enjoy the game. she died on the first level, which meant that the rest of the game never happened and all the evil gods remained locked out of our world. The screen says something like "Congratulations, you Died and never found the ancient relic. The horrors from beond never found our world"

Batman: Arkham City. If you have the Catwoman missions, you get to a part where you can either turn left to leave your loot and go help Batman, or go right to take the loot and get out of town. If you go right, the credits immediately start rolling, and you hear Oracle sending out a disstress call. After that though, the game gets you again and rewinds to the moment of your choice to go left or right. It's a fun fake game over :)

There's one is Street Fighter Alpha 3 (the arcade version) where if you get all the way up to M. Bison and you lose, they'll show a clip where your character is placed in the Psycho Drive and your body is used to power a giant machine to fire a laser that destroys a city. It's an automatic "Game Over" with no option to continue. They changed it in the PSX and Dreamcast Ports where you'll have to let the countdown go all the way to 0 to trigger the ending.

Undertale, during the Genocide playthrough. During the fight with Sans, if you spare him when offered, instead of the two of you parting ways as unlikely acquaintances, he straight up slam dunks you, killing you instantly. The game over screen appears with the game's version of the troll song.

I loved the Far Cry 4 one. After playing the game, having a kickass good time. I decided to play again doing different storylines... then I was just listening to Pagan and was like "Well, you know what. I am going to stay right here. See what happens" Took awhile and was beginning to think, maybe it was one of those inescapable events but then he comes back and end game. Real neat little secret there.

@Domura7 жыл бұрын
The Far Cry 4 hidden ending is actually pretty brilliant from a meta perspective too. Sure, you miss out on the entirety of the game if you just sit and wait, but in the end, you basically accomplish the same goal you set out to achieve in the first place without getting yourself embroiled in a war of a country that, really, you have no business getting involved in. Common gamer logic suggests that you go leave the table and embark on a country-spanning shootfest, but what about real world logic? What if you approach it from the perspective of a scared traveler that just came to the country with their mother's ashes and had no inclination of learning to murder hundreds (thousands?) of armed soldiers for what ultimately does little to improve the situation of the land. If Ajay does the realistic thing (i.e. sit there terrified of running from the building and into the wilds of a country they have no experience with), then everything turns out perfectly fine and he gets to go back to his normal, every day life without making things worse for hundreds of people.

Honorable mention to getting caught by the fireflies in the last of us at the lab. It's done well enough that you even think it could be the games actual ending.
