Fun, informative as always... but I do wish that more YT producers of Ioniq 5 content would mention they're talking about the Ioniq 5 LIMITED before they start showing features that a newbie might think are standard, i.e. movable center console, driver's seat reclining leg rest, panoramic roof, rear seat window shades... [That newbie was me just a week ago.]

Most reviewers miss this but even better than the reclining rear seats is that they slide forward and backward. It makes for more cargo space if you have small legged people in the back. also better for sleeping in the back if tall (though you have to fill a gap that opens up).

Fun fact: If you double- press(press again within 5 sec) the rear part of the middle button for the seat, it will automatically go to "zero gravity mode" - press and hold (for 1 sec) the forward part of the middle button and it will auto reset. And you can do the same with the top button on the side of the passenger seat.

Fun fact: The seats are actually made from eco-friendly processed leather that uses flaxseed oil instead of animal products. A lot of the IONIQ 5 is made with recycled materials.

Other features: either driver window or both can be lowered with FOB; vehicle can be “started” with FOB; has an Utility Mode or camping/dog mode. Has ability to provide 110 16A AC power; at higher trims it has a summons feature. Last, the glass is insulate for a super quiet ride. Thanks

Friendly observation about the centre console adjusting back and forth . ie if you park in tight the passenger can't open their door they can easily slide out the driver side.. changing drivers on the side of the highway.

You missed my favourite regen mode - which is Auto-regen (hold right paddle down) - which also has a few levels. It is an adaptive regen mode that changes depending on gradient of the road and the distance and acceleration of car in front. Also (in the Australian model) the only regen mode that doesn't persist across restart is the iPedal .

What some people don't know is that when you let off the accelerator when in regen mode it puts your break lights on, every... single... time. If you aren't in cruise control you will be flashing your break lights nonstop

There are more features of the Ioniq 5 that you forgot to mention. The Ioniq 5, along with the Kia EV6 and the Porsche Taycan, are the only BEVs on the market that have 800-volt technology, offering the possibility of charging at 240 kW or more. Thanks to this technology, only the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6 offer V2L bidirectional charging, with which you can charge another BEV or run any electrical appliance with a maximum power of 3.6 kW. And last but not least, the panoramic roof contains solar panels that get about 800/1000 extra miles a year.

Regenerative braking does not use the brakes. They last longer since not used as often. If you have to brake hard then the brakes are there

The brake pedal in any ev can be used at any time in addition to the regen to decrease braking distance When using ipedal mode, regen the normal brakes are automatically applied to bring the car to a complete halt and hold it stationary.

You can make the seat go to lounge in 1 go... just use the middle button 2 times and it goes to lounge mode

Have an Ioniq5 and wish the following had been incorporated. 1. rear window wiper 2. you have to use the forward USB port to hook up Apple play. That USB pero should have been the port where the phone automatically charges. 3. middle of the dash underneath the air vent, the dash ledge should have bee slanted forward and slightly down to hold your sunglasses since there is not a holder on the roof area. 4. V2L should have been included. Have to buy the adapter for $600.00.....Ouch! Great vehicle though!

Same here It’s actually quite amazing even with the higher price tag (I got the limited It’s fucking awesome But all of the trims are great) I’m so impressed with it I do have a level 2 charger at work though If I had to use public charging I would be less thrilled I bet But I came from a Toyota venza limited Granted it was a 2021 but this car has more features and is just way way better And I loved my Toyota The only downside I can see to this car is the sound system and even that is really not that big of an issue It doesn’t sound bad It just doesn’t sound good either It’s also incredibly fast in sport mode Like mind bogglingly fast And it’s the kind of speed where because it’s not gas it just feels so cool I’m rambling but you get my point It’s just a well made car (seemingly) and really has some cool shit in it

The manual key for backup is standard for keyless entry vehicles. I guess it never occurred to me but Tesla fobs must not have a manual backup? What do you do if the 12v dies? Does the big battery just end up acting as a back up to the 12v insuring the electronics are effectively always powered?

There's a cap in the front bumper hiding wires that you can hook up to a 12v source if the internal 12 volt dies. Tesla now uses a lithium-ion battery for the 12v instead of lead-acid, so less likely to be a problem.

Anyone can break into a frunk of a Tesla really easy. It's just two pull-tabs inside each wheel well. From there, you jump the 12V battery to get in the car. It's a PITA. Takes about 5-10 minutes if you've done it a couple times. The lithium solution is great until it gets too cold, then your 12V battery is 11.5V. They need to put a heater in the battery box.

As much as I like my Y I would honestly like to own the 5 if the price point was 10k less. The exterior is gorgeous and the interior has grown on me. I went to go test drive one just for fun (sales guy was more than happy to show me the car) and I liked the way it drove. It's not tesla good but it did drive very nicely. The seat were super comfortable and the displays really are easy to use. Again I really liked the car it's just a shame the price point is too high.

$45k (After Fed Tax Credit) for the SEL/AWD isn't bad, IMO. However, $62k for a Model Y is crazy high. I remember when you could get a Model S for that price.

I paid $45k august 2022 for long range SE. while basic as to “luxuries” the drive train, safety features in this RWD are there. It’s also the most efficient being single motor. It does have a Snow drive mode.
