True words. Ultimately, we have to make our own decisions and take action. Negativity can kill a person.

I was a Sergeant, helicopter crew chief in US Air Force Rescue and likely would have made a career of it and gone the whole 20, if I were not surrounded by toxic negative losers. We had a house in Phoenix, I was working on electronics at Sperry which included the F-15 and the Space Shuttle.... same thing then with the negative people, I left that job. I am done with negative people, they have done more damage than a war.

I spent 26 years with a partner who was very negative. When we eventually broke up I realised I had to use negativity myself because he was always negative which gave me the freedom to always be positive. It was a bit of a shock to have to delve into negativity myself! Luckily I don't have negative people in my life now. As you get older you do realise you have to look after yourself only because nobody else is going to do it, which is fine, it's no good being dependent on others. Have a lovely day. I enjoyed walking with you virtually. 😊

Toxicity involves more than being negative. There’s gossiping, constant drama, false positivity bs, incessant religious bs, high levels of absolute stupidity, all the nosey busybodies…

Hello Sir. I love those places you walk through. I was surrounded by people like that all my life. I began fighting back when I began breaking down. They attacked my self esteem to the point where I was just taking care of myself, but couldn't see my face in the mirror at all. It was horrible. I'm still picking up the pieces. From time to time I see my body lop sided, or distorted. They are dangerous people. It's like a virus that tears into your brain, and doesn't let go. This person knew what they were doing.

This is such a relevant video for me Brenden. I have a couple friends who, unfortunately are narcissistic. I've had to distance myself from them somewhat as their views can be toxic and negative........ I've had to do this for my own mental well being. Thank you as always for your valuable insights.

Good suggestions 👍. This is a good project in the US due to the highly contentious political situation. However one of my cousins simply says, “I don’t want to talk about that right now.” Then she repeats this as many times as is necessary. Never seen it fail.-I learn from people with good solutions.

We need to face the fact there is a great deal in the world today to feel negative about and to not see any meaningful solutions to. The trick is in turning your focus toward those things that uplift you and give you hope. That can take some work on your part but with practise, you can begin to see the positive in most situations. Remember that every day can't be the best you've ever had, but that the rain brings renewal and beauty.

There needn't be any reasons why complaining people complain. There can be, but needn't be. The stoics advised us to be grateful. Schopenhauer stated quite correctly, that the better off we are, from a material standpoint, the pettier our complaints tend to be. First world problems, so to speak. Perhaps the perpetual complainers are spoiled? They've forgot, or never learned, the order of things. They might need to lose something, in order to develop a more balanced perspective and generally become more appreciative.

Bad mouthing others and pointing out faults in everything has become a type of self worth. You see it on the Internet all the time, in politics, at the work place. Since we have dropped morality and hard work as values we seem to be lost and grasping for some sort of worth.
