As a natural sceptic myself, I love evidence and it strengthens my own faith, it even helps me when talking to non-believers but nothing can prove God true to someone who absolutely does not want to believe.

You really think that? God the creator of all, who knows you better then you know yourself, cant prove Himself? @@O_tropos I am not limiting anything of God. God can do anything and everything he pleases. If God wanted to, he would force everyone believe, but he doesn't do that because he wants us to have free will. We make the choice on our own to follow Jesus. Jesus gave the evidence that he is the messiah, but people like the pharisees and scribes had hearts that were so hard to the gospel, they didn't accept him.
@1Corinthians15-1 Жыл бұрын
@@O_tropos You have to also have faith that what God tells us is true in that some people just don't ever use their free will to believe.. it IS sad. The best thing we can do is proclaim the good news wherever we go of the gospel and pray that God continue to use us to win souls by being open to His calling. God did NOT make us to be robots. If He did, then we would be robots, incapable of our own decisions, but we are not, we have the ability to choose our own fates (whether that is a wise decision or not). The shroud of Turpin was used to trick Gullible Catholics, its idolatry at worst and superstitious at best. Weak minded people might find it helpful. Pope Clement exposed it as a fake hundreds of years ago. They know the artist who created the image. It was a way for the church to make money. They would charge people to see it and people would "receive grace" for having saw it. Try not being as gullible in the future because people can be very manipulative even if they claim to be Cristian.

Faith is the key to accepting all mythology... You only need faith when you have no facts and when you have facts you dont need any faith. No facts to support talking donkeys and flying reindeer so both mythological stories are accepted solely on faith

It would seem to me that people who are looking for archeological evidence to prove the Bible is true, are actually saying the same thing that Thomas said. "Unless I see the nail prints on His hands, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe." Yeshua said to him, "You believe because you have seen. Blessed are they who believe, even though they have not seen."

The shroud may or may not be real, but it doesn’t make sense that his hair is long due to the weather in the area where Jesus was. It doesn’t make sense that the beard of Jesus is still intact considering the scriptures say they plucked the beard from his face. Lastly, the scriptures say that he was hardly recognizable as human after the crucifixion. The scripture says, “His visage was marred more than any man”. It makes me have a hard time believing that this was Jesus’s shroud.

Right the scriptures says Jesus was whipped gruesomely and that his back was ripped open. This shroud could have been some else beaten . It didn’t look like the scriptures says . It really isn’t that important .

The new research is in line with numerous previous studies that have concluded that the Shroud is not authentic. Earlier carbon dating work has determined that it dates to 1260 to 1390; Jesus is generally believed to have died in the year 33.

Josephus, a historian for the Romans wrote of a man who was called Jesus by his followers who was crucified during the reign of Pontius Pilate. He was not a Christian, he certainly would not have fabricated the event since he was opposed to the Christian movement. He merely reported it as part of the history of the Roman empire.

Observations on crucifixion. You do not make it clear that the Romans never buried the criminals they crucified. In Jerusalem, they allowed bodies to be claimed and burried as part of their unsuccessful effort to avoid open rebellion. Johananon had a spike through his ankle, but most depictions show the feet put together and a single spike put through both feet. In fulfillment of prophesy, none of Jesus's bones was broken. Crucifiction was done in various ways, so nothing changes.

Hi Allen, was curious about the beard Dr Johnston mentioned on the shroud of Turin, Isaiah 50 mentions Jesus beard being ripped out, so how does that coincide with Dr. Johnson’s description of the shroud wrapped so tight that it pulled down his beard? Love the channel and great interview. God bless

Thank you both for this! Extremely fascinating and if you get a chance please do the 30 min on the shroud. One question I have on it is (I can’t be the first) - the Bible describes Jesus as being beaten and from what I understand almost to the point of being unrecognizable. The face on the shroud seems to be in tact without any signs of swelling. How was that explained in the discovery?

@@auh2o148 the DNA tests of mummies from Egypt show that the ancient Egyptians were related to Europeans. Modern day people's descendants from the people from time of Jesus, such as the Samaritans, the Druze, the Bedouin, the Marionite Lebanese and the Christian Copts in Egypt all look European. This is why Northern Africa and the middle east wete always a part of the Greek Empire and the Roman Empire, because it was populated by the same people. The great Sahara desert cut off Northern Africa and the Middle East from the rest of the world until the 8th century AD, when Moslems with camel's from Arabia were able to cross the 1000 mile wide Sahara desert and find out that the desert opened up onto savannahs and sub-saharian Africans.
