Great shoes. I've heard that unless your tall with slim legs and ankles that wearing straps around the ankles shortens the height. Since I live in Canada I mostly wear boots. I heard a rumour - square toed shoes are coming back in? Time to go shopping again, ha ha!

You did a great job here. Last weekend I allowed a Nordstrom personal shopper to go to the shoe department for me. I told her I need one black sandal, not totally low but not a heel either. And I wanted to compare some beige neutral sandals with a comfortable heel. I brought with me dresses from home and new pants that are perfect for me. I never went to the shoe department. She got me comfortable in a dressing room and in privacy we tried on a lot of shoes. I came home with the perfect black sandals and a beige shoe I would NEVER have tried. So comfortable I could sleep in them and they have almost a 3 inch heel. They make pants and dresses look dressed up. So, take someone with you and let them pick shoes for you and only buy what you like. Nordstrom takes things back. Don’t use them and then return them. But do buy them, take them home and consider keeping or returning without wearing them anywhere except to try on.

Chelsea boot is where its at for me , more covered up than booties and can be worn with jeans AND suits important for cold , wet countries like Brittain and Sweden ;) for the same reason the thigh high boot - good way to wear dresses in a climate which can be decidedly drafty =)

Here in Austria, most of my female friends and colleagues have no heel shoes or only one or two pairs with average heels (around 4-5 cm) for special occasions. I have 1 black pair with 4 cm heel to go with my evening dress or my floor long Dirndl. The rest is without heel and I am average where I live.

That’s all great and good but here’s my problem. I LOVE walking. I have no problem wearing heels at all as far as pain is concerned BUT any pair of shoes from ballerinas to sandals, from wedges to heels, they ALL give me blisters. Of course they will, just choose a pair that has similar color as your skin, they will elongate your legs, making it seem like your leg and your shoe is just one long object, without there being any contrast between your leg and the shoe.
