Scott, Overall the Addison sign puzzles aren't that bad. Always take a minute to look at the sign, you haven't been closely looking at the sign . You will see channels or "slots" where you can place the wood pieces into to help prop it up. Also, always remember to set down a flat base to ultra-hand glue the pieces of wood that propping up the sign. You seem to have forgotten about that hint we gave you early in the game playthrough about always putting down a flat base first.

36:20 - Note how the game gave you a plank of wood that permanently has a second plank nailed to it in an "L" shape. When the game provides a special piece like this, it's a bit of a hint ;) This particular puzzle can be solved with two pieces: 1. place that special "L" piece on the ground so it creates a level surface. 2. Slide a long plank though the hooks in the back of the sign and attach it vertically to your flat base. It's okay if you don't care for these puzzles, though. They just happen to be something some people enjoy. It's clear to me that the developers didn't expect many people to find and solve all the Addison puzzles, otherwise they'd make the reward for doing so more impressive (it is not). 1:06:43 - Yup, that sound was your hearts healing from swimming in the hot spring. 1:58:07 - The researchers in Hyrule aren't very good at their job. "The ancient puzzle says put the key in the keyhole and turn it. I have a key, and the keyhole is in the door, but... I'm stumped." 2:07:03 - I'm glad I don't stream because this took me way too long. I tried to get 3 forms of water: solid (ice), liquid (water), and gas (steam) to activate the puzzle. The hint is a bit of red herring if you think too hard about it. 2:58:30 - Yup, this is also the music BOTW used for all 3 labyrinths, so that's been consistent. They did a great job with making it creepy and puzzle-y. 3:01:03 - "That looks like a good place to ascend". More than anything else, this comment demonstrates the problem with a reused map. They gave Link a new ability (ascend) which is tied to certain physical layouts (low flat ceilings). Yet the old map had thousands of spots that were designed without that ability in mind that appear to be hinting that you should use that ability. Using an old map muddles up the design language and misleads the player into thinking something is a hint when it is not :( Great work on the 10 shrines. You have a little work left on that labyrinth (you're only 1/3 done), but I think it'll be fun when you get to it :)

The lindor's brow cave. I think the reason the shrine was a blessing shrine is because the gloom spawn were meant to be a boss fight.

you've found very much on your own, so I think it's a good point to start looking up stuff to not walk around aimlessly. Also good job on the shrine puzzles. For some reason it took me too much time to figure out the one with the ice.

There's more to do with the Labyrinth after you finished the shrine. Look across the room after you exit the shrine. Each of the labyrinths has three parts...one on each layer of the map. Also, yes there is a pretty nice reward for completing all of the shrines. But it's for all shrines - including the ones in the sky. A quick way to blast through big rock walls is by using a cannon. I usually attach one to a spike so I can set it down without blowing myself up. But you can also just carry the cannon around with ultra hand. Or attach one to your shield but I find it too hard to aim that way. Looking forward to whenever you get to the Yiga quest.

Scott, I did the same as you in using an online map to find some remaining shrines towards the end of my playthrough, I think it makes perfect sense. Apologies I haven't been able to keep up with this series they way I did with BOTW. I moved city and job, and now I no longer WFH, so it is harder to watch these full series. Really enjoying watching you play again, and I have been enjoying the MGS2 series. Keep well.

Regarding the timeline: in my opinion, none of the games really feel like they are part of a strong cohesive canonical timeline. They could all stand alone as their own games, with no connection to other games (with the exception of the games that are direct sequels to another). Nintendo likes to repeat characters and ideas, but does so fairly inconsistently. For example, we see Beedle in BOTW/TOTK, but also in Skyward Sword and a few others. Is it the same person living over thousands of years? I don’t think so. When you play Ocarina, you’ll meet someone with a name you are familiar with from this game… I think Nintendo just likes to give us these little Easter Eggs and bring back favorite characters. The attempt to create a “timeline” seems, to me, flimsy at best, something Nintendo did because the fans were wanting it, not because Nintendo felt these games really fit together in that way. I think they’re spinning BOTW/TOTK off into their own “timeline” because the story of TOTK is just so inconsistent with the prior games. How does the “founding of Hyrule” story from TOTK fit with the story we know from Skyward Sword? It doesn’t at all, so Nintendo now says that BOTW/TOTK are to be viewed independent of the other games. Nintendo seems to care more about creating games around the gameplay rather than the story and overall franchise lore…in fact, the producers have said this themselves. And I’m not necessarily complaining about that, but it’s frustrating when they try to claim there is a controlling “timeline” when, to them, telling a story is secondary to gameplay, resulting in what many view as inconsistencies and more questions.

Yeah, I see your point. Some games though, like you said, are good with the storyline since they are direct sequels like BotW/TotK and even OoT/MM. I do believe that Twilight Princess in a way ties in with all that as well. I do however know that Four Swords Adventure, Four Swords, and Minish Cap are all in a timeline of some sort but yeah you have Tears of the Kingdom rewriting pretty much Skyward Sword. I'm not complaining either but I said to someone that I think BotW and TotK are in their own timeline right next to Skyward Sword. And then after OoT you have the three timelines. I wonder where fans will theorize were Echoes of Wisdom will go since it is a legit The Legend of Zelda game.

If you cut down a tree with a korok on top of it, you cannot get the korok. You have to wait for the tree to respawn, then climb it. It may have been on the top of that monument that you needed to climb. Again, CLIMB to the top. You were not climbing to find the first korok indicated by the arrows. The korok you found in the water was NOT the one the arrows were pointing to but a different one. Also, those Gloom Hands in the cave were never going to disappear. They are different than most other Gloom Hands. But anytime you actually DEFEAT the Gloom Hands, a Phantom Ganon will appear. Every time.

2:26:38 Not really a nightmare, but I may have. I remember I had a dream a month or even a few weeks before the games release where I was in a first-person view from Link's perspective. I remember seeing large areas of malice but I am unsure if I saw gloom spawn. I remember clear as day fighting the final boss, final phase, I felt like I was flying.

I did a little bit of research into it and it sounds more like BOTW and TOTK are in the same timeline, but they won't say where they fit because they want to leave that to the player's imagination. I personally think they never should have made an official timeline to begin with. You can tell that the games are linked (no pun intended) and there could be so many theories about how they fit together. Maybe, one day, there will be a games that completes the series and explains it all, but for now, they are all just legends.

There are 156 shrines in total. 120 of those shrines are on the surface. And they are easy to find because they always correspond with lightroots. There are 36 shrines in the sky islands, that do NOT correspond to lightroots. But the sky islands are islands, and that means the sky is mostly air, and there are no shrines that spawn in the air. Also there are only 36 of them.

The Gloom Hands didn’t disappear because it was underground and there was no light. That is my speculation because when you defeat most Gloom Hands, you get a Phantom Ganon. A live stream will be good. Maybe we can help you find the Hylian Shield. I believe TotK is a continuation of BotW. Also the Korak was up on the tree and the other one was separate. OoT is the game. It is a fantastic masterpiece. Oh and the reason why the shrine was a blessing shrine because of the Gloom Hands. Usually people find that cave early on and have very low hearts so just escaping from the Gloom Hands is all they can really do, unless you are an expert.

Congratulations on hitting 10 shrines. I believe there are three more hearts to get since you have to consider the labyrinth shrines and I don’t think you got all of them since it is two shrines per labyrinth. Anyway, great job and I am looking forward to seeing you finish this game!

That Lindors Brow cave with the blessing shrine was my very first encounter with the gloom hands. It was quite early on when I first found Hestu and Impa. I died a lot trying to reach that shrine before finally deciding to sneak and run from the hands.
